Natalie sat at the top of the small hill that was facing The Fence. At least the wind was not so strong like the last time that she was there with Trevor. Sitting out here, she was thinking about what she learned. About Caitlin. There were lots of unsolved questions, questions that she tried to answer in the solitary environment. Caitlin found out, is that why they had her killed? She knew that Nicky and the seniors wanted to force Erin into their plan that’s what she meant when she mentioned about them trying to force her friend into it. Likely, Erin was her only close friend at the time. Caitlin also mentioned that she was up for a new relationship but, with who?
All these questions roamed in her mind before a deep voice that made her skip a heartbeat interrupted her.
“What are you doing here all alone?”
She turned her head and was greeted by a sweet kiss. She realized who the guest was.
She drew back first offering a wonderful smile to Trevor who begun sitting next to her.
“I got your message.” He said revealing a rose.
She received it. “Aaw, sweet.”
“Like it? Freshly plucked.”
“Oh. There’s a rose garden in this compound?”
“Amh, just a little outside the compound.”
“Love ya” she said and gave him a light kiss.
“So, tell me, what got you out here alone?” he asked.
“Oh. I needed to resolve somethings.”
“Oh, threat of hydrargyia?” he asked sarcastically.
“No. But, by the way you’re talking of it is like you don’t believe. Erin was storing a 60mm jar of Mercury in her locker, where do you think that she got it from?”
“I’m not sure why Erin would keep such an amount of mercury considering the danger but, her Aunt works in a Chemical factory that also supplies most of the chemicals that we use in Hamerton.”
She was slightly struck by the fact that he knew about Erin’s aunt. Her mind drew back to her initial thoughts, she did not know much about him and she was never such a big part of his life like most of his friends were.
She turned away, looking down.
He noticed the change in attitude but, he thought that he upset her because he did not show to believe her. “Hey, cummon. Cheer up. It’s fine. Tell me what you were thinking about.” He coaxed.
“I’m fine Trevor, it’s nothing anyway. I can fix it.”
“Really?”
She turned to him with a new solution. Well, if she was going to know him better, she needed a head-start. “You never mentioned to me that you were sick.” She reckoned.
“Oh. I’m not. I just got the agitation because of the heat in the elevator and… I think that I was weak or something.” He shrugged. “Normal.”
“Trevor, that’s not it.” She said giving him a bored look.
‘Did you tell her?’ Nicky’s voice echoed in Trevor’s mind at the moment. He remained silent, waiting.
“Ingrid told me.” She went on.
“Did she?”
She nodded. “She told me that, you had a little headache from Saturday morning when you two met. You were going to get breakfast but, you couldn’t anymore. So, you fell sicker in the extreme conditions.” She lied.
He chuckled a little, widening his eyes and nodded. He actually never met with Ingrid until Monday morning. “Yeah, yeah. She said right.”
She smiled on one side, disappointed in the inside.
He took her hand and she felt disgusted. “Hey, why are we even talking about that? It’s passed, I’m well now.” He paused. “Congratulations I also heard that you’re cleared at Mr. Gram’s office.”
She took her hand back slightly harshly. “I’m sorry. I feel tired. Goodnight.” She bid and before he replied, she had risen and was walking away.

what happened next? stay tuned to find out...
