Chapter 14- episode 15

              HAMERTON

Hallow new readers!
This is a story about Hamerton, a large school that has a lot of things going on, most of them being illegal and terrorizing. Natalie Bradley, an intelligent and talented girl from Brooklyn joins this school after her friend Caitlin who was allegedly murdered in Hamerton. She is agonized by the news of her friend's tragic death and she has to face up with Hamerton's bloody governance in order to secure the President's badge that has the power to decode a bomb that could cause a large massacre, soon.
She teams up with Trevor Tommy, the ex and most renowned president of Hamerton, Ingrid, and other Class D students against Nicky and her fellow evil seniors.

Previously on Hamerton;
The day before yesterday.
“Hello?”
“Hi.”
“Natalie, right?”
“Yes. Amh, Trevor?”
There was a short laugh. “No, no dear. I wish that I could hear from him as well. It’s Kenneth.”
“Oh… Hi.”
“I have been trying to reach my brother. Have you gotten hold of him lately?”
“No Kenneth. His cellphone’s not picking up.”
“Mmh. Okay. How about his girlfriends? Ingrid, Erin?”
“I talked to Ingrid earlier. She told me that he was resting.”
“That’s great. Are you going back to Hamerton?”
“Yeah, yeah. I am.” She replied excitedly.
“Great. Tell me what you know about Erin.”
“Well… she’s Trevor and Ingrid’s friend. Mine too.” Natalie said and paused.
“What’s her connection to the sect in your school?”
Natalie took some time, thinking. “I can say deep but, she’s on our side.”
“What about the president’s badge?”
“Are you asking what I know about it?”
“Yes please.”
“Well… as I was told, it can decode the bomb that the sect are going to explode in Hamerton.”
“Anyone gave you the combination?”
Natalie furrowed her eyebrows. “No. Is there’s supposed to be a combination?”
“Yes.” Kenneth said and paused. “Listen, if you get hold of my brother, request him to send me the Tick-Tock.”
“Tick tock?”
“Yeah. He’ll understand.”
“Wait amh…” Natalie asked for some time to resolve. She drew in a deep breath. “Does that by any chance mean Trevor’s wrist watch?”
“Yea. The one my mom gave me before she died. Trevor has already told you about it right?”
Natalie gulped.
Wait… what????
“So, Trevor’s diamond wrist watch… it’s yours. You gave it to him?” she asked.
“Not exactly gave him but, my mom gave it to me. C’mon Natalie, I don’t have to narrate to you the history. Just, request Trevor to send it to me.”
“Wait… amh, Trevor doesn't have your wrist watch.”
“Don’t tell me he lost it. It’s my heirloom. We don’t usually share things and I didn't give it to him willingly.” He paused, getting sentimental. “Well, he was going to the operating room then and I let him have it. That’s all. The kid kept it since then.”
Natalie was silent, still worried.
“Okay. Just tell him to send it to me. I have my own combinations there that might match your badge. Goodbye.”
Natalie was silent.

Today
Flashes of various and similar incidents came to her mind. She turned to Natalie. “Let’s go to the bathroom.”
Natalie rose. “Okay. Where do you keep your tissue?”
“No. Not that. If it is occurring to me well, Erin was quite fond of one particular bathtub in our bathing hall.”
“Oh… yeah!” Natalie said, just realizing it.
Ingrid took her hand and strode with her to the bathroom at the end of the corridor.
The hall was large and white-tiled. There were at least 20 cubicles on each side which had built-in toilets and showers. An empty space remained at the center that the girls usually used to shower if all the bathroom cubicles were filled.
The floor was wet when the girls entered. The sound of an open shower filled the hall.
“One,” Ingrid began, taking her right hand direction across the bathroom hall.
Natalie escorted her, counting the bathrooms.
“Two, three.” Ingrid called and stopped at one cubicle with a loosely closed door.
The sound of the opened shower came from this cube.
Natalie looked down. She stepped on a larger paddle of water here.
Ingrid pushed the door open softly to reveal Erin’s favorite bathing cubicle in its destroyed form.
The toilet tank was broken and the over flow tube let out water in a violent turbulence.
“What happened here?” Natalie asked carelessly.
Ingrid looked around searching for the possible answer. She spotted a folded piece of paper lying on the water paddle beside the toilet sink.
She walked forward to pick it up. “I have a lot of reason to believe that, someone else was here before us.”
Natalie glanced at her and the paper that Ingrid was holding. “What is that?”
“Let me read it.” Ingrid said after unfolding the paper. She begun and as she went on, tears tingled her eyes. “I wrote this as I intended to talk with Morningstar, I expected that I would not survive and so… I am not.” She paused, sighing deeply.
Natalie covered her mouth, gasping and releasing her own tears.
Ingrid swallowed and went on. “I hope that you are Ingrid or Natalie or both of you.” she smiled a little at that. It was both of them. “Turn the other page.” Ingrid furrowed her eyebrows and did so.
The other page had the ink spattered because of the water.
Natalie paid attention, waiting.
“I don’t understand.” Ingrid confessed, spreading the paper in the air. “It’s some kind of blue print but, highly distorted because of getting wet.” She narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing it. Natalie had joined her hands anxiously. “Wait… wait. I know these. They are boxes but, these boxes… they stand for something.” She said and hurriedly took out the President’s badge. She took Natalie’s hand and placed the badge in her palm. “Open it. It has a loose end somewhere.”
Natalie looked at it. She tried cracking it with her nails. “What do the codes as you say, mean?” she managed to pull the lid out of the back of the badge.
It looked like the inside of a digital watch.
Ingrid traced the boxes on the print. “There are pack of resistors and, and min-capacitors… right?” she said and lowered the print to hear Natalie’s response.
“Yeah.” Natalie replied. “Is this supposed to be a device to decode a bomb?”
“Yes.” Ingrid replied and took up the paper again. “There are words here… amh,” she squinted her eyes. “Fill the gap.”
Natalie glanced at her. “What gap?”
Ingrid strode forward to Natalie, looking at the badge. “Check for any gap.”
Natalie did.
“Wait, this does look like a watch.” Ingrid said, just realizing it.
Natalie blinked quickly, staring at the atmosphere, Kenneth did mention a connection between Trevor’s watch and the President’s badge.
“There.” Ingrid said, placing her fingertip on an empty space between red wiring.
Natalie looked at the badge again. “Yeah. I see it.” She dismissed the thought of Kenneth in her mind for another time.
Ingrid drew back and raised the blueprint in front of herself. “It goes on here… Fill the gap with the chip, amh…” she narrowed her eyes. “OMG this sheet is all messed up.”
“The water ey?”
“Yeah. Amh… fill the gap with the chip…. In the… watch?” she read and ended up in a queer.
Natalie’s eyes glowed with an enlightening. That must have been Trevor’s watch!
“Watch?”
Natalie almost jumped back with a new voice that came behind her, asking.
She spanned around quickly to incur Nicky’s sight.
She had made her way unnoticed as the girls were focused on Erin’s message and distracted by the leaking toilet tank.
Nicky held a barrel gun, tapping it on her palm.
Natalie stared at her dreadfully. Fear traveled in her blood.
“I was kinda expecting, calculator or… I dunno. But, a watch?” Nicky went on.
Natalie turned to Ingrid but, she was also holding a gun and pointing it at her.

Natalie’s eyes widened with shock. What?

Who was Ingrid pointing the gun at? stay tuned to find out.....

              HAMERTON

Hallow new readers!
This is a story about Hamerton, a large school that has a lot of things going on, most of them being illegal and terrorizing. She teams up with Trevor Tommy, the ex and most renowned president of Hamerton, Ingrid, and other Class D students against Nicky and her fellow evil seniors.

Previously on Hamerton; Natalie and Ingrid set out to recover Erin's message and though Natalie has to, she is reluctant to follow Ingrid because of her doubts on Trevor's condition. Surprisingly, Erin's message is 1 2 3

Continue;

“What is that?” Natalie asked with puzzlement.
Ingrid took some time to reply. She scrutinized the numbers, trying to fathom what Erin had in mind while noting those figures. Clearly Erin’s message was not only the numbers.
Ingrid sat down on the bed thinking about them.
“Ingrid?” Natalie called, observing her movements.
“Caesar cipher.” Ingrid murmured and asked her, “Do you have a pencil?”
Natalie shook her head. “No.”
“Please check one for me from my bed. It’s at the end, beside my diary under my bed pillow.” Ingrid directed.
Natalie silently climbed the bed and stretched her hands to where was Ingrid’s pink pillow. She raised it and pulled a pencil that was next to Ingrid’s dairy.
Below Natalie, Ingrid looked intently at the numbers. She tried to recall the important conversations that she had with Erin.
“Here” Natalie called, interrupting her meditation.
Ingrid thanked and noted some letters below each of the numbers.
Natalie sat next to her watching her.

                                        D                            e                                f

“Why did you write that?” Natalie asked after reading the text Ingrid made below Erin’s numbers.
“I am trying to decipher Erin’s text.” Ingrid replied.
Natalie narrowed her eyes, scanning the sheet. “Oh. I know this… wait. You think that the one, two, three stands for a, b, c and you are using Caesar cipher to decode Erin’s text. Right?”
“Right.” She agreed. “But, Def doesn’t make any sense.”
“It’s not even in the dictionary but, take it from me. Do you see how she bolded the third integer? I think that she was counting and that whatever she wanted us to know or find, is actually at the third spot.”
Ingrid stared at the figures for a few seconds. She then took out the President’s badge from her skirt pocket and turned it sideways.
Nothing correlated with what the paper gave. What did Erin mean? What was she counting down?
Flashes of various and similar incidents came to her mind. She turned to Natalie. “Let’s go to the bathroom.”
Natalie rose. “Okay. Where do you keep your tissue?”
“No. Not that. If it is occurring to me well, Erin was quite fond of one particular bathtub in our bathing hall.”
“Oh… yeah!” Natalie said, just realizing that.

Ingrid took her hand and strode with her to the bathroom at the end of the corridor.

What did they discover? stay tuned to find out...

Chapter 14- episode 12

              HAMERTON

Hallow new readers & Happy Sunday to you all!

Previously on Hamerton;
Five years back;
A middle aged man stood in front of a sick bed in a large hospital ward. He had been standing there a while watching a boy that lay on the bed. The only sound in the room was the ECG machine and a soft tune that played from a MP3 player in the man’s coat pocket. At a point, the music paused.
As he waited, a younger man walked in. He was tall with ebony hair jellied back to suit his looking. He wore a black T-shirt and black trousers that also matched with his boots. He strolled slowly to the man.
“Why did you do this?” The older man asked before the younger man even greeted. “Kenneth. Why?” he added in agony.
Kenneth smirked and continued with what brought him without minding his father’s question. Trevor was the boy laying on the sickbed, dying. “You know obviously that my own DNA does not exactly match with Trevor’s. We have different mothers.” He informed. “But, there’s a girl I know. I did my investigations. Somehow, her kidney is apt for transplant to Trevor.”
Father turned to him with a queer look on his face. “How is that possible? I have no other child than you three.”
“I can’t explain myself. But, the doctor also said that, it can be possible. She can donate the kidney to Trevor if, she wanted to. We cannot guarantee her willingness.”
Mr. Tommy looked away and back at his son. “What if we offer her money?”
“No. Her family is very rich. Father, I’m sorry that I’m mentioning this but, if you want your son back. I don’t. You,”
“You don’t have to remind me that.” He interrupted him. “Tell me what I have to do. I can’t lose my Trevor.”
“No. You can’t. Anyway, my ways may be brutal but, it’s your best chance of recovering your son.”
Mr. Tommy raised an eyebrow. “What? Are you suggesting… that? Kenneth?”
Kenneth sighed with impatience. “Yes, I’m suggesting a way to bankrupt her family and so they get into the need of money and allow their girl to give up her kidney for Trevor.”
“Does it have to come to that? What if we beg them? Despite that, everyone has a price. Even me. Who are they anyway? The family.”
“Oh, trust me, you don wanna know.”
“I do. Spit it out, now.”
“Trevor’s mom’s rivals. Stewart.”
“Dairy Stewart? The chairman of EC party?”
“Exactly.”
“That’s right. They will never help us, even if we gave them all the money in the world. My Monica can’t help either, since she’s lost her mind. She has a kind speech if she was mentally well she could have talked them into donating their girl’s kidney to our son.”
“What a pity.” Kenneth contributed sarcastically.
Dad frowned. “You caused all these. Doesn't your conscious disturb you? What did Trevor ever do to you?”
“You should be thankful that I got him an organ donor.” Kenneth replied.
Father turned back to the bed. He was grieving inside for the cruelty of his first son that got his second son there. He did not understand why, he did not understand where he failed as a father. He turned back to Kenneth. “Kenneth, once your brother is all alright, can you please forgive whatever he did to you? Can you mend your relationship with him and… even if you don’t love him as a brother, just don’t mistreat him.” He paused. “I can give you anything, anything that you want. Go anywhere. You can live in whatever country you like, you can go on a world tour. I want peace. I want the good of Trevor.”
Kenneth chuckled grinning devilishly. “Just tell me if we can take care of that family.”
Father sighed. He knew that he did not get into him. He could never get into him. “Let me take care of that. I don’t trust you that much.”
“Trevor’s gonna die.”
“Not yet. He can settle with weekly dialysis for a few months while I, specifically I, find a way to engage with the Stewarts to be part of our family.”
“Not gonna happen.”
“Why not?”
“First of all, the boy doesn't have a few months, secondly, how will you be able to talk to that family?”
“I’ll just try to be more like Monica.”
Kenneth laughed.
“I am going to do it.” Father added.
“And Trevor’s life expectancy? What are you going to do about that?”
“He can do with dialysis, I have already talked to the doctor.”
“Whatever you say I guess.”
Father took some time in silence. He was quickly arranging his plans in his mind. He realized that he also needed confirmation on his target. “The Stewarts? You’re sure.”
“You can double check if you think I’m lying.”
“Just tell me how you found out.”
“That’s my secret pops.”
“Then, why did you go looking for a donor in the first place? You don’t want Trevor to die?”
“I do but then, you could disown me or something. I can’t afford that.”
“For all you did, kidnapping Monica, turning her crazy, you deserve to go to jail.”
“Pops, you need me. One way or another. Okay, maybe I was a little harsh with your second wife, Monica but, you tell me that, if I did not kidnap her, would you have escaped the corruption charges that were against you?”
At the bed, Trevor squeezed his hand into a fist. He heard his brother’s voice, the first sound after waking from an induced sleep.
Mr. Tommy did not reply and Kenneth pat his shoulder. “By getting Monica out of the way, I did us both a favor. You became a senator and now I can conduct my business smoothly across the borders. It’s only Trevor who is so far at a loss. But, when he grows up, he might understand.”
Mr. Tommy sighed deeply.
“Cheer up pops. I’m leaving the family in your hand. The steward of our home in London just called. I told him that you’re busy and so you are.”
“Is everything okay there?”
“There was a robbery or something.”
“Anything stolen?”
“Pops, that’s the definition of robbery, stealing.”
“Okay, what was stolen?”
“I want to go there personally to find out.”
Mr. Tommy stretched his palms. “Just make sure that you spend a week there or months, or even a lifetime.”
Kenneth laughed. “You will miss me.”
Trevor heard footsteps and the door was opened. Kenneth must have left. He smiled.
Mr. Tommy glanced at the bed. How much Trevor is afraid of his brother, he is gone and Trevor is smiling now. He thought.
Trevor was happy but, from another reason. His own deal to kidnap his mom was a success. He made sure to keep her wherever his brother and dad will not reach her.

Present day;
“What now?” Natalie asked as they came out of the building through the fire exit and emerged into the school back yard. “Did you get the gate-passes?”
“No.” Ingrid said, walking ahead of Natalie to a shortcut path to the girl’s dormitory.
“What? Then how are we supposed to wake Trevor?”
“We?” Ingrid called as the distance between them expanded.
Natalie had to run to her. “I don’t understand you.”
“He is already awake.”
Natalie frowned. “But, how? He needs to hear my voice or maybe if I kiss him or something. That is how he is supposed to wake up.” She paused, wondering. “Am I right?”
“Maybe that would have worked but, it’s not what me and Steven discussed.”
Now Natalie was more confused. “I don’t get it. Ingrid, he is a bad guy!”
“I know Natalie but, he is helping now.”
They approached the building and entered the hallway of the dorm house. It was quiet and lonely. All other students were in the school campus for questioning over the murders.
“How do you know that Trevor is up and that Steven hasn't lied to you again and killed him? Ingrid? Open your eyes. Steven is a bad person, we have to see Trevor to confirm that he is really awake and doing fine.”
Ingrid rounded her eyes and spanned around to face her. “Okay. I will tell you what happened.”
Natalie nodded. “Great because, I don’t understand.”
They talked inside an elevator that lifted them to the 13th floor of the building.
“Beginning with Trevor, Steven suggested that we should move him to London.”
“London?” Natalie repeated.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because, his mom, Monica is there and, he would be okay with her.”
“Ingrid. You accepted to drag Trevor’s sick mom to the problems that your Steven created? How do you expect that the lady will take it seeing her son lay like a vegetable in front of her?”
“He is already awake, Natalie. Don’t you get it?” Ingrid snapped.
“How?” Natalie inquired, irritatingly.
“Well… he has a song he likes. Steven had his uncle play it for Trevor. That woke him.”
Natalie furrowed her eyebrows. “I didn't know of that.” She said feeling down about it. “So, have you talked to him to make sure that he is fine?”
“He can’t talk. But, he makes movements.”
“What makes you so sure?”
“I trust Steven.”
Natalie was angry. “Why?”
Because he has never lied to me. Ingrid thought of saying but, she did not.
“Ingrid. I don’t know how much your cousin means to you but, he, he is the love of my life and I will not be contented with what you’re telling me.”
Ingrid opened her mouth to retort but, she refrained. She spoke calmly instead. “Natalie. I have to trust Steven. You and I have no choice but, to do so.” The elevator opened but, neither of them walked out. “We can’t leave the school campus without gate-passes and Erin left an encrypted message that we have to retrieve.”
“Message?” Natalie asked.
Ingrid walked out first and she followed.
“What message did Erin leave?” Natalie asked.
“One concerning what we are currently holding. The President’s badge.”
Natalie folded her face with astonishment. “I don’t understand. Did she also ask that you recover the badge after she would be gone? Did she know that she was going to die?”
Ingrid emerged to her room that she shared with Erin. She halted at the doorway in front of Natalie and looked around. “Great. The police haven’t shown up here, yet.”
Natalie glanced inside the room as well. There was one bunk bed opposite the entrance with the lower bed roughly arranged. Some clothes hanged on one full-length mirror on one side of the room and the closet beside it was widely opened.
“I see your point.” Natalie agreed.
Ingrid walked further into the room and stopped at the lower bunk bed, raising the mattress.
Ingrid took out a crumpled sheet of paper below the mattress and turned to Natalie, holding it.
“What is that?” Natalie asked.
“Her message.” Ingrid said and unfolded the paper quickly.
Natalie dashed behind her to get a glimpse of three large figures that were hand written on the large piece of paper.

1                                2                                       3

"What does that mean?" Natalie asked with puzzlement.

Previously on Hamerton;
Natalie and Ingrid set out to find the President's badge and gate-passes in the Principal's office and they are caught red-handed by Archibald. Again, Natalie is isolated from hearing his conversation with Ingrid.

“Ingrid.”
“Sir.”
“Why did you turn your back on us?”
“I didn't turn my back on anyone. I made a choice, sir. I think that what you are about to do is insane and you have to put an end to it.”
Archibald sighed at Ingrid’s reply. He walked to her who stood behind his desk and he paused in front of it. “You are not yourself. What you are saying Ingrid? Look at what happened to Erin and Trevor. Don’t you worry about yourself?”
“I take the risk.” She replied with determination.
“Well, you are setting yourself on a trap that you will not be able to come out of.”
“I don’t care.” She rasped.
“You better start caring because I am not going to grant you gate-passes to go anywhere.”
She gulped. She could not imagine what more he will deprive her of. “I, I will tell my uncle and he will sue you.”
“Not unless he hears our side of the story. You break into my office and try to steal from me.”
Ingrid’s mouth dropped open with shock. She had not prepared herself for that.
He lifted the receiver at the end of his desk and she had to watch with the worst anticipation of who he was going to call.
“Ester. Please get Gram here. Tell him that there’s a break in.”
“God.” Ingrid sighed. Mr. Gram… of all people. She thought in dismay.
Archibald replaced his receiver and turned to her. “That will be yours and your friend’s demise. I was waiting for the opportunity to strike you and here you showed up like gold on a platter.”
Before he included, the land-line phone rang and he had to receive it.
Ingrid was busy looking around the room for an opportunity to escape.
“He’s_ what? A rebel? ...okay. I’m on my way.”
Ingrid smiled when he said this. Luck was on her side.
He hang up and pointed his finger at her. “You. Leave my office right now but, we are not through.” He bawled.
Ingrid rounded the desk hastily and left without a word.

She met Natalie outside the office and took her hands, running out with her.

Chapter 14-episode 11

Previously on Hamerton;
Two years back,
The girls stared at him for a moment as he walked closer to their desk. Probably with Erin it was casual but Caitlin skipped a heartbeat.
Trevor. Trevor Tommy. He had grown up. Surely. He was taller, more handsome. His face, more masculine now was more attractive. His athletic body, pale skin color and well, tantalizing gaze without forgetting his deep voice could melt down the confidence of any woman.
Caitlin took in a deep breath to suppress the lustful feelings and waited till he greeted.
“Caitlin Brooks.” He reckoned offering a hand to her. “It has been what? Two years?”
She nodded and shook the hand.
He turned to Erin. “How are you Erin?”
“I’m okay. Any problem?” Erin said.
“No. I heard that my friend is here and so here am I to greet her.” He paused “However, we are required in the office. Now”
“Which office?” She asked immediately.
“Our office.”
“Wow you guys have an office?” Caitlin asked trying to be a more part of their conversation.
“Yes.” He replied shortly.
“But, why am I needed there? I’m not an MP.”
“I don’t know either.” He replied. “When I told one of my colleagues that I was coming here, he asked me that I should fetch you.”
Erin shook her head with slight disgust. She then rose and left hastily.
Trevor shrugged and turned back to Caitlin as he occupied Erin’s seat. “So how’s your family?” he begun.
“Fine.”
“When did you join here?”
“Last week.”
“Your brother?”
“He’s okay.” She waved her head to one side and added “in the primary section.”
“What’s his name again?” He asked furrowing his brown eyebrows. He had deep brown hair color, short and suiting him.
“Ralph.”
“Ooh good. We parted when I moved here. I used to see your dad at times.”
“Here?”
“No. London. He was with my father.”
“Yes. He came to England.”
“Dad said that you left because of some… family problems?”
“Yeah.” She sighed looking down. “Mom died.”
“What!” he exclaimed although in a low voice. He was very astonished. More because he had no idea. Roughly he imagined what his friend must have gone through. “I’m very sorry Caitlin. I really am. Dad did not tell me that.”
“I understand.” She nodded
There was a short silence.
“So… you are a president now.” She said changing the subject.
“Yes.” He show her a badge that was on his waistcoat. It was adorned with golden and italic inscription

PRESIDENT OF HAMERTON STUDENTS

“Nice.” She said.
Just then some students walked in the room and strolled to where the two sat.
“Trevor… we can see you with the newcomer…” they teased.
“Shut up Derek.” Trevor warned. “I've known Caitlin before.”
“Really?” one of them, with long hair tied back questioned. He laughed with his group and they abandoned the couple.
“Okay. I’ll see you later.” He said rising.
“Which grade are you now?” she asked, raising her head to eye him.
“Well. I’m passed your level. Senior high. I’m close to doing my A level and leave you here. In two years.”
She nodded and he left.

Present day;
Natalie went out to look for Ingrid and met her at the lobby where they parted.
“Where’s Steven?” Natalie asked when she had approached Ingrid who was hovering in the lobby.
“Gone out but, he will be back.”
“What about Trevor?”
“Did you manage to get us the permits?”
“No.”
“Okay.” She said and took Natalie’s hand. “Let’s get to Archibald’s office. More than the permits, we will get the badge.”
She started out to the staircase and Natalie followed her.
“You mean the President’s badge?” Natalie asked.
“Yes.” Ingrid said. There was a sort of seriousness in Ingrid’s voice that got Natalie’s concern.
“May I know why we need it now?” Natalie asked.
“We might not have another time to acquire it. Steven tipped me that the school administration blames the murder on the election campaigns. Michael was a candidate and he was killed. There might be no elections nor president any longer. We can’t afford to lose the badge.” Ingrid replied, hastily climbing up the stairs.
Natalie pulled her hand free, making Ingrid halt. “Trevor is more important now, Ingrid. We have to focus on saving his life, not the school, yet.”
Ingrid raised her eyebrows and grinned. “I know but, this is equally important, Natalie.” She took Natalie’s hand again. “C’mon, let’s go.”
Natalie sighed and reluctantly followed her up the stairs to Archibald’s office in the first floor of the chief building.
The waiting room outside his office was empty. It was the girls’ guess that the secretary escorted Archibald to the administration meeting upstairs.
Ingrid led the way inside the large vintage decorated office and scurried to the principal’s desk. Natalie stood close to the entrance, watching her as she shuffled some documents on Archibald’s desk.
“So, what are you looking for? The gate-passes or the President’s badge?” she asked.
“Both.” Ingrid replied and went behind the desk, she sat on Archibald’s chair and pulled one of his desk drawers.
Natalie walked to the desk and paused.
Ingrid glanced at her, frowning. “Don’t just stand there, give me a hand.” She snapped.
Natalie silently checked the desktop. “Have you ever got a gate-pass before?”
“Yeah. But it wasn't from Archi- Got it!” she said and exclaimed, revealing the President’s badge. The golden inscriptions of ‘Hamerton President’ and the Five Torches, glowed in the sunlight that penetrated the room.
Natalie had no comment, she was more concerned about Trevor.
“What?” Ingrid asked.
“I will check the secretary’s desk.” Natalie said.
She began walking to the door and by coincidence, heard voices.
“Archibald.” She announced in a whisper, making Ingrid gasp.
Ingrid signaled Natalie to follow her and they hid behind the principal’s chair right before his door opened.
“Yes, yes. I am sorry.” Archibald said, holding his office door. “Mrs. Morningstar I assure you that the school administration will take full responsibility with regard to your son’s murder and I assure you that, the criminal will face justice.” He added. “Hallow? Hallow?” Archibald called and lowered the phone, sighing.
He looked at his disorganized desk and frowned. “What tha- Ester? Ester?” he exclaimed and walked out, calling his secretary.
Back in the room the girls rose out of hiding.
“We have to get those gate-passes.” Ingrid suggested.
“I feel sorry for Morningstar’s mom. She also called her son when I was in the officer’s office.” Natalie said pitifully.
“What?” the words escaped Ingrid’s mouth before the office door opened and Archibald stepped in.
He glared at them, bawling; “What are you two doing in my office?”
Natalie began panting, Ingrid was also fidgeting.
“Tell me now!” he growled.
Natalie swallowed. “Sir. We, we are upset about what happened to our friends. So, we, we… we want to go home.”
“Yes.” Ingrid supported. “We want to go home because we are scared of being killed. We have come for gate-passes.”
Archibald shook his head and sighed. He motioned his hands in the air as he asked. “Natalie when did you get back?”
“Today.” She replied.
“And Ingrid lured you to break into my office to steal gate-passes so that you can go back home.” He reckoned.
“Ingrid didn't lure me to doing anything sir. We are just worried because, the shooter is out there and we are all in danger.”
Ingrid stepped forward. “May we have gate passes sir? My uncle will sue you.”
Archibald looked at them in turns. “Get out of my office.”
“We are not leaving without the gate-passes.” Ingrid declared.
Archibald eyed her. “Very well then. Natalie, please leave my office. The gate-passes will follow you by Ingrid’s hand.”
Natalie scowled at him for a moment then left. She was angered by the tendency that she was always left out and that to most people, she seemed as an outsider.

Chapter 14 - episode10

She teams up with Trevor Tommy, the ex and most renowned president of Hamerton, Ingrid, and other Class D students against Nicky and her fellow evil seniors.

what happened last time; Natalie presents herself to Corny Howls to ask for permit for her and her friends to see Trevor and save his life. Corny asks her to give her names of the people who partook in Trevor's kidnapping but she is reluctant to provide the information. They also learn that Erin and Morningstar had a relationship before they were both murdered.

“What!” Natalie exclaimed after Corny’s revelation. “That is not possible.”
“It is.” Corny assured her, tapping Michael’s phone. He then turned to a receiver and pressed a button that brought Millies into the office.
“Yes sir?” Millies asked.
“Contact the London police department. I’ll beep you with this kid’s number and then you will give it to them so that they can check his conversations and engagements prior to his death.”
“Yes officer.”
“Oh, and check his email, it should come with the phone number. We should be able to gain access to his mails. I also want detail of his Google searches, downloaded apps, everything major or minor that relates to him. I want to know everything.” Corny added.
Millies nodded. “And I will be waiting for your call, I mean, beep.”
Natalie glanced at her as she walked out and looked back at Corny. “Okay, can I see Trevor now?”
He tapped the phone again and relinquished it on the table, turning to her. “Give me names.”
She grimaced and sighed.
“Natalie, why are you protecting them?” he asked with disappointment in his tone.
“They are my friends. It is him, actually and though he did a bad thing by kidnapping Trevor, I can’t tell on him to the police.”
“But, he is a criminal and it will be great to start diminishing the sect. Your silence has already taken a pair of lives.”
She was silent.
He leaned forward. “I am going to tell you what I told Trevor. Talk to me.”
She rounded her eyes. It was obvious that she was not going to cooperate.
He took a pen. “Give me names, quickly.”
She narrowed her eyes. “What happens if... I don’t?”
“I’m afraid that I will have to arrest you for being an accomplice to Trevor’s abduction.”
Natalie gulped.
“But, we won’t have to get to that if you just tell me, kindly, who is responsible for Trevor’s disappearance.” He went on, trying to persuade her.
“Okay.” She sighed, relenting to his request. “If you give me a few minutes, please?”
“Minutes? What for?”
“I’ll just gather my courage, you understand.” She said and paused to check his expression; he hardly seemed to have understood. “In the lady’s room.” She added.
“Okay. But, keep it in your head that you have to tell the truth. For everybody’s good.”

She nodded and rose, leaving.

Chapter 14- episode 9

She teams up with Trevor Tommy, the ex and most renowned president of Hamerton, Ingrid, and other Class D students against Nicky and her fellow evil seniors.

what happened last time; Natalie confronts Steven for kidnapping Trevor and betraying Ingrid and their class. He receives a call from his uncle who informs him about Trevor's condition. after the call, Steven asks Ingrid to speak with him in private.

Steven requested Ingrid that they move to a more serene place. She reluctantly followed him to one empty class in the ground floor of the building and though he pulled out a chair for her, she did not sit.
She crossed her hands below her breasts, pulling a frown. “Can you get on with it please?” she asked.
He looked at her and sighed. “Ingrid, I am sorry.” He begun, feeling slightly guilty.
She swallowed staring at him without saying anything.
He approached her, trying to take her hand. “Please?”
She drew back. “Explain to me why you kidnapped Trevor. And since when have you been on the seniors’ side?”
He withdrew his hands. “That doesn't matter now.”
She frowned. “It does. Or else you are not sorry and there’s no reason for you to have called me here.”
“There is. I want to talk to you about Trevor.”
“How are we going to discuss about Trevor if we haven’t clarified about your involvement with the opposite side?” she asked, feeling indignant. “How can you lie to me? I trusted you. Trevor trusted you. He treated you like his brother.” She shook her head with disappointment. “You’re such a bastard Steven. I don’t even know why I became your girlfriend.”
“Don’t say that Ingrid and make me feel so guilty.” He warned.
“You have the guts to tell me that? Steven, after all you did against Trevor and me?”
“I have done nothing more than love you.” he said in defense. “On the other hand, you have never loved me.”
Her mouth dropped open with shock. “Where does all that come from?”
“The truth and don’t get rampant because you know as well as I do that, you don’t feel anything for me close to love. I have never owned your heart and it has always sickened me that I didn't.”
She was silent.
He did not need her response. He went on speaking his mind. “Finding out the truth about you affected me a lot. I didn't lie to you Ingrid. We were both on the seniors’ side. That, you know. You only detached yourself when Trevor convinced you. You thought that I did but, I didn't.”
“But, you never told me that you were still with them.”
“I thought that I could be an ally for class D but, Natalie came to our lives and I had to shift.”
“So, then you stopped being on our side?”
“I was enlightened about a few things.”
“Things like what?” she asked immediately.
“Like you, Trevor, Nicky.” He mentioned and paused to check her expression. She looked uncomfortable. “See? I never lied to you.”
“Steven. Who told you those things?” she asked, reclining from her anger toward him.
“He is gone now.”
Ingrid took a few minutes thinking, then gasped at her own realization. “Michael Morningstar.”
He nodded slowly and sighed.
“Steven?” she called softly. “I broke it off with him. We promised to move on with our lives. He fell in love with Natalie and I, you.”
“That’s what you made yourselves believe.” He objected. “But, now, you have to save his life. You… talk to him or, whisper something in his ear. He will revive like how he did last time.”
“He doesn't love me anymore. He loves Natalie and I think that she should be the one to wake him.”
“C’mon Ingrid. That’s why I called you here apart from Natalie Bradley. You know that, just like Nicky and all other girls in the senior class, she is just a fling in Trevor’s life.”

Chapter 14- episode 8

Previously on Hamerton;
Sunday
Michael was standing in the balcony of Hamerton Chief building, waiting.
He had his agreements to meet with a girl from class D. He leaned on the balcony rail, and looked down on the school campus. There were many students heading to the stadium which was the largest stage to accommodate all of them for the Christian mass.
Michael had his own plans. Although the girl he was going to meet was from ‘the other side’, he had feelings for her.
Like Steven, who was recently transferred from class D, Michael was in Class S. The two classes were not in good terms because class S favored the seniors and they score ties with class D frequently.
Seeing a girl from Class D was risky for Michael. More because he was running for President and class D had their own promising candidate; Natalie Bradley. Despite that Natalie had not shown up in the school campus, Michael could not have been too confident that he was the only one standing to replace Trevor as President of Hamerton.
As he watched, his cell phone buzzed in his trouser pocket and he took it out, expecting that it was her message.
It was.
The screen read

One message received: Erin

He smiled and opened it quickly.

Seen you.

He turned down to the grounds again, looking for her. He wondered where she could have seen him from.
He drew his phone close to call her before a voice interrupted him.
“Well, well, well. If it isn't Michael Morningstar the school President.”
Michael lowered his phone to behold a couple of seniors with built bodies and carrying clubs.
He folded his face with confusion. “Wait…What is going on here guys?” he asked, tottering back. The rail supported him.
He stared at them with popped out eyes as Duane Duncan, leader of the troupe, beat a baseball club on his own palm.
“What are those for? Duncan? Duncan?” Michael shouted.
Duane laughed at him along with the others. “Oh, he even cries like a sissy.”
Michael gulped with his Adam’s apple rising and falling. He dropped his phone that also slipped down to the ground.
Duncan pulled him from the rail and pushed him to the floor.
Michael screamed in agony.
“Mr. President. We have orders from our real president, Trevor to teach you a lesson.” Duncan said to Michael before he hit him.

Present day on Hamerton.
Natalie wondered around the building and by chance caught sight with officer Cowls leaving the elevator to the ground floor. He was escorted by a familiar lady officer and some of the school staff and students.
Natalie was amazed to see him. Surely Trevor did not send him. Was he really part of the Interpol? She wondered.
She followed the troupe to Mr. Gram’s office. She guessed that, they used the Discipline office for interrogation.

Inside the office, Corny laid Michael’s cellphone on the desk. It had a shattered screen and scratched sides.
“Thank you Samsung Galaxy.” Corny said, rounding the desk to sit on his chair.
“Why? You’re not sure that it’s working.” Millies said.
“It should. Wait till the boy brings its charger.”
Millies rounded her eyes and sighed. “Whatever.” She said and left.
Corny searched for a socket behind his chair. He wanted to be ready to plug in Michael’s phone and recharge it.
His door opened.
“Thank you Tobias. Just, lay it on the desk.” Corny called.
“Yes.” Tobias sounded.
Corny heard footsteps to his desk.
“Officer, there’s a girl here to see you.” Millies sounded at the door.
Corny turned back to the office. “Alright, another witness?” he asked.
Tobias left, passing Millies at the office entrance.
“Yeah and more.” Millies replied.
Corny picked a charger from his desk. “How? Are we up for surprises?”
“I don’t know.” Millies shrugged.
“Okay. Let her in.”
He turned with his swing chair and bent his back to connect the phone to the charger.
“There.” He told the charger and turned around to face the new witness. “Natalie?” he called to her who sat across the desk.
Natalie offered a little smile. “We meet again.” She looked around, “in the same circumstances.”
“I agree.” He said nodding. “So, are you a witness here?” he asked, carelessly.
She chuckled “Obviously.”
He took a pen and a paper. “Okay, tell me how you were related to Erin Shawn or Michael Morningstar.”
“Erin was my friend.” She said, looking down with sadness. “We were like triplets, me, Erin and Ingrid.”
He felt pity for her. “I am so sorry for losing your friend, Natalie.”
Natalie looked at him. “Thank you.”
“So, what happened on the day that she was murdered? I mean, where were you and what were you doing?”
“I was on my way here. I just reported.”
He nodded filling that up.
“Mr. Corny, do you know where Trevor is?” she asked.
“I was hoping for you to answer for me that question. We have not communicated for a while. No one in the school campus has seen him after the interview on Saturday.”
“Well, he was kidnapped.”
Corny furrowed his eyebrows. “By who? Do you know?”
“His friend. Trevor was also unconscious when he was kidnapped. The guy who took him finally wants to help.”
“Wait, wait.” Corny interrupted her. “Someone kidnapped Trevor?”
She nodded.
“Who? Please give me a name.”
Natalie was not ready for that yet. Although she was angry and mad at Steven, she never thought of reporting him to the police. “No. Corny, can I not?”
Corny frowned. “You’re going to protect that criminal, Natalie? That is not what I would expect from an intelligent girl like you.”
“Please? Amh… we only need a permit to leave the school to see Trevor. He is dying.”
Corny felt like a bucket of water was poured over his head. “What!” he exclaimed. “Can you kindly tell me what’s going on?”
Natalie blinked quickly. Maybe she said what she should not have. Maybe he was right that she was wrong by protecting Steven. He committed a crime by kidnapping Trevor.
“Natal-” Corny begun before the cellphone behind him rang. He sighed, shaking his head with disappointment.
He turned with his swing chair to Michael’s phone and read the broken screen.

Incoming: mom

Corny was struck with sympathy. He waited for the call to end and drew the phone to the desk.
He pressed some buttons on the phone, recorded some contacts on a piece of paper and checked Michael’s call logs and messages.
Natalie glanced at the ill-treated phone. “May I ask to whom that belongs?”
“Michael.” Corny replied without looking at her. “I am still upset with your habit. If Trevor knew what you were doing, he wouldn't be pleased.”
Natalie eyed him with queer. Why did he have to say all that? She was going to save him.
“Please? I only need a permit for me and my friends to leave to see Trevor. He needs us. He needs me.”
Michael folded his face with confusion, scrutinizing Michael Morningstar’s phone. “Erin.” He called slowly. “How was she close to Michael before they were both killed?”
“I don’t think that they were any close. There’s always been a biff between class S and class D as there is between class D and the senior class.”
Corny glanced at her. “And they came from the antagonist classes?”
“Erin and Michael? Yes. Why? What is the problem?”
“I think that your biff did not exist for these two. Like Romeo and Juliet, they were going out. That explains why they also died together in the same scene.”
Natalie was speechless.
