Continue;
“Why
do you stretch so far for a person that you barely even know?” Archibald asked Madam
Sue after she hang up her phone call.
“Don’t
you get it Archibald? Natalie is the best replacement for Trevor Tommy.” Sue
replied.
“Mmh
I agree with Archie.” Brian said. “She’s just one girl.”
“Yes.
Who very much reminds me of myself. I want to give her a chance.”
“No.
You want to make her President.” Archibald corrected.
“And
the very last one.” Sue said.
Edgar
who was silent all the while raised an inquisitive eyebrow. “Why?”
Sue
rose. “Simply because the school government’s power has become more powerful
than the school administration. After Natalie, Hamerton will need to know and
understand order. I want her to leave prefects and monitors. I don’t want any
more Presidents or Ministers like it was some kind of nation." she said and whined, "They even call
themselves Hamertonians.”
“I
get that.” Edgar said pouting his lips forward.
“My
vote is on Morningstar.” Archibald said before Brian rose.
“Well,
whoever you guys vote for. Sue, I am going back to France.” Brian said.
“So
soon? Why?”
“My life
is there, you know that.”
Susanna
sighed. “Okay, come with me.” She said and begun walking to the door.
“To
France?” Brian asked following her out.
“Don’t
you think that, she’s crossing the limits with this girl?” Archibald asked
Edgar when they remained on their own in the conference hall.
“Hardly.
Natalie is gifted according to Sue. We have the resources. We might as well
assist her education.”
“Giving
her a financial grant is fine but, making her President?”
Edgar
leaned forward resting on his elbow on the table. “Okay. Why don’t you think
that Sue’s choice for President is the right one?”
Archibald
shrugged. “She’s girl.”
Edgar
laughed. “That is the oldest argument Archibald. C’mon. She is talented and
from the way the other candidates were, Natalie will probably be the best one.”
“You’re
just supporting your sister.”
Edgar
pushed back his chair rising. “And how I wonder why you don’t.”
He
said and left.

Previously
on Hamerton;
“So,
tell me.” Trevor said to Kenneth after they were outside.
“I am
going to be in the place that I booked for us. I need to refresh and stuff,
thanks for the wine.”
“Wait,
we can take out our bags and do that here.”
“No
Trevor. You also have to respect this girl and her parents. We’re two
strangers, they don’t know us… they are gone. It wouldn't be best for us to
take advantage of her daughter or their absence. I’ll get a shower and change
at the hotel. You will have to be with her and talk to her about Hamerton.
Don’t forget why we came. Got that?”
“Okay.”
“Not
just an okay, you have to promise me.”
“I
promise.” Trevor said nodding. “What about the people who tried to attack her
yesterday? Are you going to take care of that?”
“You
told me that it’s the work of the police.”
Not any longer.
Trevor was thinking. The issue got
personal… “She knows those guys. One of them was her old boyfriend. His
name is Simon.”
“We’ll
file a case then.” Kenneth replied easily.
“When?”
“After
we talk her to becoming President.”
Trevor
was silent.
Kenneth
pat his shoulder lightly. “It’s gonna be alright, I promise. I’ll see to it
that nothing wrong happens to her or you. We need her.”
Trevor
took in a deep breath and nodded.
“Okay.
Goodbye.” Kenneth said.
“Alright.”
Trevor replied and gave him way to open the car door and get in.
I can do this.
Trevor thought. I have to do this…
For Hamerton
After
parting with Trevor that day at Natalie’s house, Kenneth begun his pursuit of getting
information on the sect. Since he was once part of another secret organization,
his task was not very difficult.
The
day when Trevor fainted, Kenneth was riding in the back seat of a fake taxi cab
with his former colleague as the driver.
Kenneth
had a file on his lap, perusing it in with one hand and the other, holding a cellphone.
“Not picking up ey?”
“Camille?”
Victor, the driver asked.
“Not
my wife. Trevor. I have been calling his cellphone for hours now. Do you know
what time it is in England?”
Victor
shrugged. “Maybe eight or nine pm.”
Kenneth
redialed. “What’s his problem?” he asked more to himself than to the driver.
“He
can’t be asleep at this time.”
“I just
hope that he is not in trouble.”
Victor
did not respond and Kenneth turned down to his file. “So, this guy who we are
going to see, how is he involved with SOHOT?”
“He’s
a betrayer.” Victor replied.
“And
why are we seeing him in a mental hospital dressed as doctors?”
“Well,
he is retarded. But, you never know maybe he is just acting as one.”
“Okay.”
Kenneth agreed. He was not all amazed with the sound of things. The dark market
had many issues.
They drove
into an open gateway of a mental clinic and Victor paused the car before the
large hospital building.
A
nurse came to receive them and Kenneth introduced himself as Dr. Harris Brown.
His details
to see the alleged patient was already at the clinic administration office.
Kenneth
sat across the desk with the clinic officer before he got to see the guy.
“Thank
you very much for coming.” The officer said to Kenneth after they had sat.
“Yes.
Tell me about the patient first before I can give my initial diagnosis.” Kenneth
said acting professional.
“His
particularly a Jane-Doe. We have no details about him and he doesn't know who
is. What he is always rephrasing is time, Six am.”
Kenneth
furrowed his eyebrows. “I don’t understand doctor. Six am?”
The
doctor rose. “Maybe you will prefer to see him for yourself.”
Kenneth
nodded and rose too. “Yes please.”
The clinic
officer led Kenneth through a labyrinth of hallways in the old hospital
building. There were many doors bordering the corridors and screams and shouts of
insane people echoed in their ears as they passed.
They paused
in front of one of the doors in the top floor of the building.
The
officer had a key which he opened the door with, revealing a large room, cubic
in shape with white sponge walls and floors.
There
were bright lights on the ceiling of the room, which along with a small glass
window, gave light into the insane ward.
A man,
maybe in his early thirties crouched at the corner of the room. He scrapped the
sponge walls, giving the entrance his back. He wore white uniforms like other
patients that Kenneth already came across.
Kenneth
gulped after seeing him. He did not recognize the man yet.
Some sound
reverberated in the ward room that was different from Kenneth’ own breath. When
he drew closer, he could hear the man well.
“6
am. 6 am. 6 am.”
The
man kept on repeating.
Kenneth looked at his condition and felt pitiful. He had to ask, "What happened to him?"
"We are not sure. One thing is though, whatever did, relates to the time he is always rephrasing."
what happened next? stay tuned to find out?
Next on Hamerton;
"Where is he?" Natalie shouted.
Steven could not provide an immediate answer.
"Tell me where he is, right now or, i will-"
"Okay." Steven cut her short. "He had another attack." He told.
"What?" Natalie asked with disbelief.
what happened next? stay tuned to find out?
