HAMERTON

 For new readers; Natalie joins Hamerton, a large school that has a lot of things going on, most of it being illegal and terrorizing. She is agonized by the news of her friend's tragic death and she has to face up with the Hamerton's bloody governance in order to secure the President's badge that has the power to decode a bomb that could cause a large massacre. she teams up with Trevor, the ex and most renowned president of Hamerton and Class D students against Nicky and her fellow evil seniors.

Where it ended las time. Natalie is on a plane, flying back home and wondering the outcome on everything. Mrs. Bradley is anxious to see her daughter again and dad phones to inform that he is working hard to take care of them.

“Mom!” Natalie called, spotting her mom far across the airport terminal.

Mrs. Bradley who saw her too, rose from the bench where she was sitting, breaking into a smile.

She begun dashing toward her daughter who was lightly loaded with a single suitcase. Her pace slowed when she noticed a handful of people with cameras and microphones and notebooks, running toward Natalie.

When they were apart by a few yards, the reporters already thronged Natalie. Mrs. Bradley was cornered but she walked to them anyway.

“Miss Bradley, the world would like to know your involvement in Ashleigh Smith’s murder and your relationship with Paula Moure who so happens to come from a very influential family in France.” The reporters asked.

“Miss Bradley, are you also going to fly back to be witness to the case against Paula Moure in France?” They went on.

Natalie got nervous with all the questions but, the reporter who still questioned her participation in Ashleigh’s murder, agitated her. “I didn't kill Ashleigh!” she snapped.

Then someone grasped her hand and a voice followed. “My daughter didn't do anything and we won’t answer any questions for you.”

Natalie spanned around and meeting her mom, embraced her.

With a lot of ‘bla bla’s, Natalie was eulogized by the media. There were lots of unanswered questions like, would she be present in the hearing of Paula’s case in France? Why did Paula plot to kill her? And Natalie wondered on her own if she would be able to come out of the whole mess.

“Mother?” called Natalie.

“I said No!” Mrs. Bradley shouted.

They were having a heated discussion the next evening after Natalie’s arrival, in the living room. Natalie mentioned about returning to Hamerton but, Mrs. Bradley was adamant about it.

“But-” Natalie tried to say before her mom cut her short.

“No buts.” Mrs. Bradley said. “Not until you tell me what is really going on.”

Natalie was silent. She could not let her mom know about Hamerton, about the sect or Nicky or Trevor or anything.

“That’s it.” Mrs. Bradley said. “I am returning you back to Brimstone where you can study, under my watch. You hear me?”

“But, I don’t want to!” Natalie cried.

“Honey you have to.” Mom said struggling to lower her temper. Natalie made her very upset with her rigid thoughts of going back to Hamerton.

Natalie shook her head with disappointment and run up to her room.

Mrs. Bradley called her once and reached for the telephone to call dad.

Up in her room, Natalie buried her head in her pillow, crying. Mom’s word was final and the fate of many people depended on her.

She already promised to Trevor, Ingrid and Erin that she would be back and then, all her chances of keeping that promise were slim.

For all Natalie knew, the school was already opened. It was scheduled to be re-opened after the completion of the competitions which if, nothing happened were supposed to end on the previous date.  

As she wept, she heard a beep and raised her head a little. She glanced at her phone and stretched her hand to reach it.

There was a message and she opened it. It was from Ingrid and it read;

Natalie. I am sorry for what happened. We saw everything on the news.

I hope that you are okay now.

You also have to get here fast. Things are getting hot. The campaigns have already begun. Michael Morningstar cannot win.

He has no opponent. They all fear him. No one can have that badge but you.
