The gun shots in Michael’s ward caught the attention of all of the patients in the school hospital.
“Oh my God what was that?” Two nurses at the reception asked each other.
At the entrance, Fred and Cheryl arrived with their camera and microphone.
“Good day nurse Abby, nurse May.” Fred greeted first. “We are here to interview a patient, Michael Morningstar. Can we see him please?”
The nurses had disturbed faces because of the shot. Before any of them could reply, their boss; Dr. Gamaliel came from his office and asked. “Did anyone else hear that?”
“I think it was a shot.” Nurse Abby said.
“I also heard something just before we stepped foot in here.” Cheryl contributed.
“So, where did it come from?” the doctor asked.
There was a cry from one of the wards and the nurses and doctor rushed out toward the direction of it.
Fred and Cheryl followed.
Just in case, Fred had his camera rolling.
As the five approached the corridor leading into the wards, they heard more cries. The patients were altogether frightened by the sound of gunshots and begun to cry.
The five entered the ward of one junior at a single door to Michael’s open ward. The girl was the one who made the cry.
Nurse Abby walked to her to console her.
“It’s okay. Hush.” Nurse Abby coaxed.
“It’s alright Felicia.” The doctor promised. “Calm down. Did the shots wake you?”
Felicia nodded.
“So, where did they come from?” Fred asked lowering his camera.
Cheryl’s eyes flashed recalling the opened ward she glimpsed at, next to this girl’s room. “Who’s sleeping next door?”
The nurses and doctor turned to her.
“Michael Morningstar. Why?” Nurse May replied and asked.
Without response, Cheryl scurried out of the room to the ward adjacent to Felicia’s.
The other’s followed in queer and came to pause right where she halted, at the threshold of Michael’s ward.
Cheryl had frozen with her mouth dropped open and eyes widened, beholding the gruesome sight of Erin’s body, lying against Michael’s, with bloody bullet holes on both their heads.
“Jesus.” Fred whispered, rolling.
