Thank you God for this opportunity.

Natalie joins this school arriving from Brooklyn and she has grief over her lost friends who were murdered in Hamerton. She teams up with Ingrid and their fellow seniors against the House of Representatives to prevent a bomb blast that could cause a large massacre.
Happy weekend viewers!

previously on Hamerton; a heavy noise fills the Chief Building's cafeteria and the dining hall's lights go off. Ivan and Ingrid go out to find out what happened.
Natalie arrives London and after roaming the enters a police station and tells the officers that, she is looking for Corny Howls. She is taken for interrogation.
Corny hears his wife through the video tape that, Henry plays over the phone and after Maggie comes back on air, they realize that, she is still alive and is held hostage in Hamerton.

Continuez s'il vous plaƮt / please continue;

Maggie opened her eyes but, only to find herself in a dark room. There was no longer a bright light above her head and she could not feel the cords around her hands and legs.
Clearly, she was lying on a bed.
“Hallow?” she called, louder and with fright this time. Her voice did not echo. She imagined that, the room was small and stuffy.

“Maggie?” a voice came to her ear.
She sighed with relief. “Howls. You are there.” She reckoned with excitement.
“No Maggie.” Henry corrected her. “But, Howls knows that, you are alive. Please calm down okay? We are trying our best to save you.”
Maggie lowered her voice to a whisper. “Thank you Henry. But, these people, they want something with Trevor. They are going to ask him for my life. Please tell my husband that.” She warned, this time, groping on the bed for the end of it.
“Yes. Both him and Trevor already know that. Amh. Do you already know where you are? Do you remember anything that, they did to you?”
“They only poured water on me and almost electrocuted me when I could not provide some info about Trevor. I don’t know where I am Henry. I, I also heard a name, different from their code names. Hannah. From what I gathered, the person with that name was the one who confirmed to the guys that Trevor is in England.”
“Okay. Hannah, Hannah. I will take account of that.”
“There’s someone coming.” Maggie announced when she heard footsteps close to the room.
“Stay strong Maggie. They won’t do anything to you unless they have Trevor. We have a bargain.”
Maggie gulped. “I don’t want anything to happen to Trevor because of me. He means a lot to Howls and he is faultless.”

There was a sound of a tilting knob.
Maggie trembled with fright. She thought that she was about to face death itself.

“We will rescue you, Maggie.” Henry said as in her comfort. “I promise you.”

 Two minutes ago

Why didn't you tell your boss that, his wife is being held in your former school?” Gale asked Nicky when they secretly arrived the power control booth of the chief building of Hamerton.
The booth had a big generator and a computer that together were used to coordinate the supply of electricity throughout the school compound.
Gale and Nicky wore dark outfits and masks and she carried a backpack on her back.
They made their way up there, by sneaking into the campus through The Wall when, everyone was occupied for supper.
Nicky took off her bag. “There was no need to scare him. If SOHOT wanted Trevor, they wanted him here. Trevor is the only one who knows the coordinates to work this thing.” She replied, drawing near to the computer. “Please hurry and take out the Calculator from my bag.
“Okay.” He agreed, bending down to reach the bag. “So, Trevor knows electronics of these things. Forgive me but, I know beverages and salads.” He said and she giggled. “So, do you?”
“I know that, there is a chip that, the directors replaced with an old one some years ago. If I remove the chip, I can work the generator manually.”
“Here.” He said, offering her the calculator.
She took it and thanked him.
“Then you will switch off?” he asked, as she opened a compartment from the computer and took out a small chip.
“Fit Mega Sixty.” She murmured holding the small red card in her fingers.
“Excuse me?” he asked.
She inserted the chip into the calculator. “Fit Mega Sixty. Latest technology of chips such as these that control power supply of a wide area network.”
He crossed his face in queer. “Okay. Now, I know who will put the power in the new project that Baeyer Luxus is overseeing in Amalfi Coast in Italy.”
“Wow.” She said, tapping the calculator quickly. She did not want to get her concentration off of it. “You are building a hotel there?” she asked.
“Yeah. And I want to put it under your name.”
“Done!” she announced and waved the device to him. “Aaw Gale. You are so sweet.”
“I just love you and you know, after my parents died in that horrible disaster, I have had no one to fill their place but you. I want to make you happy, always.”
She looked at him with much appreciation and ended up smiling. “And all I want is you, Gale. Your love and trust. Nothing else matters.”
He draw near to her, taking her hands. “Nothing else.” He repeated.
She nodded and drew her hands free. “Okay. We have less than two minutes to take Howls’ wife out of here. I have managed to set the generator to turn on in five minutes.” She said and he nodded. She walked to the generator where a large plug was.
“Can you handle that, all on your own?” he asked.
“You would be surprised by what I can do. Okay. This will be very loud.”
He walked forward to her. “Don’t worry. I will cover your ears.”
She smiled at this, feeling his palms shielding her ears. She then pulled the plug with all her strength and there made a very loud purr.
Gale squeezed his eyes shut. Sadly, he could not do the same for his ears.
Hamerton went dark.

**

A couple of guys became alerted when their room lights went off, following a loud voice of a moving object in the upper floor.
“What was that?” the one asked the other.
“Power cut.” His friend replied.
“So, do you think that, we should warn the boss?”
“No. The hostage will be safe so long as we are keeping guard the door.”
Unto their surprise, they both became drowsy and heavily dropped on the floor with unconsciousness.
Another group, moved the men and searched their pockets for a key to the basement door.

***

“What is your name?” Officer Bard asked Natalie who sat across the desk with him in an interrogation room.
A notary sat at the back of the room, typing her statement.
Natalie sighed. She imagined that the process will take long. “Natalie Bradley.”
“Where do you live?”
“In New York but, I study in Hamerton so, I stay there.”
“Oh okay. How old are you?”
“Eighteen.”
“Really? When were you born?”
She grimaced. Seriously? “March. 1995.”
“Okay. So, what made you leave school and come to London?”
“To find Corny… I mean, officer Corny Howls.”
“How is he related to you?”
“We are not related but, I know him from a case that, he helped me with.” She said and thinking that, she could make her case complicated, added. “A long time ago. But, I have to talk to him. It’s urgent. Can you please help me?”
“Miss Bradley, do you understand the rank that the official you’re asking for, is holding in the police force?”
She shook her head. “No. But, we met in an interrogation room like this not so long ago. I was in trouble and he helped me.”
The officer narrowed his eyes. “What trouble was that?”
Natalie sighed. “It was just a case that, happened in our school. Not such a big deal.”
“When was that?”
“About eight months ago.”
The officer leaned forward. “Miss Bradley. Officer Howls is no longer working in interrogation rooms like this. If you were not informed, he has been through a series of promotions.”
“So, I can’t see him?” she asked. “But, please, I need to see him. I have to see him. He knows me.”
The policeman chuckled. “Sir Corny Howls, know you? That is impossible. If you are from America then, you must know Michael Tommy. He is friends with Sir Corny Howls. The man’s son, some Trevy Tommy is also acquainted with Sir Howls.”
Natalie glazed at him. Her expression remained mild.
“So, Miss Bradley. If Sir Howls met you in a case before, I’m sure that, he forgot you.”
Natalie shook her head and sighed. I do not believe this. She thought.
“So, will you tell me the real reason why you want to meet this high police official?”
Natalie stared at him for a while, making a decision. “Yes.” She agreed.
The officer gloated. “I hear you.”

***

Now
Maggie took in a deep breath, bracing herself to combat the incomer.
“Who’s there?” she called, when the room door opened and there were multiple footsteps drawing close to her bed.
“Maggie Howls. Right?” A lady’s voice sounded.
Maggreth panted with terror. “Who are you? Please don’t hurt me.”
“We are not here to hurt you, Maggie.” The girl went on softly.

“Wait. Nicky?” Henry sounded in Maggie’s ear.

Maggreth neglected him, blindly staring at the lady and her anonymous companion. “Who are you?” she asked.
“Somebody who will bring you back to your husband. I’m from the unit and they sent me to rescue you.” the lady replied.
Maggie sighed with relief. “Really? Howls sent you?” she asked with disbelief.

“Yes. That is Nicky. Go with her Maggie.” Henry said over the receiver.

“You have to come with us quickly.” Nicky added, reaching out for Maggie’s hand in the dark.

“Us?” henry wondered aloud.

“How can you see me?” Maggie inquired instead.
“Infrared glasses. We caused the blackout. Now. There is no time. If the power goes back, your escape will be jeopardized. Please, take hold of my hand. We will guide you out of here.”
Maggie vainly looked around the room. “You and?”
“Me.” A man’s voice came from inside the same room.
Maggie got off the bed.

“Maggie. Please ask Nicky who is the man that she is with. I know Howls would have told me if, he was sending two people in your rescue mission.” Henry instructed over the receiver.

Maggie swallowed to ask. “Amh. May I know, who is the new guy?”
Nicky sounded chuckling. “I assume that you are communicating with Howls, right?”
“No. Henry.” She replied.
“Well, Henry. He is none of your business.” She said, loud enough for Henry to hear.
Maggie, who was the least concerned about their jokes, told her. “He says that, concentrate on taking me to safety.”
“Yes. Okay. We have no time. Let’s go.” Nicky agreed and ushered them out.

***

One minute later
Nicky led the way out of the basement to the lobby of the chief building which was heavily flocked with students, moving here and there.
“What now?” Gale asked, standing behind the ladies.
The lobby itself was dimly lit with some light that slanted through the glass windows and doors of the hall.
Some people walked around with torchlights and most of them, aimed toward the exit.
“Stay away from the lights.” Nicky instructed.
“Okay.” Gale agreed.
Maggie’s vision had improved by that time. “Where are we?” she asked.
“It doesn't matter yet.” Nicky replied, leading their way out of the lobby, clinging to the walls.
“I think that, there is someone coming.” Gale said, lowering his goggles when torchlight collided with his infrared lenses.
Nicky looked around the hall for solutions. “Let’s increase speed.” She suggested.
They did but, as it seemed, so did their pursuers.
“Argh.” Nicky groaned and covered her eyes when the torchlight illuminated her.
She released Maggie and they had to pause.
The people with the torchlight, halted in front of the three, with shock on their faces.
There was a girl and a boy.
“Maggie?” the boy reckoned.
“Nicky?” the girl called, lowering the torchlight.
Maggie’s mouth dropped with surprise. “Ivan.” She exclaimed and ran into his arms. “Oh you little.” She cried.
Nicky took off her goggles to brace the event. She pulled a serious face when her eyes landed on the girl. “Ingrid.”
Ingrid glanced at Ivan and the lady then turned back to Nicky. “But, you’re dead.”
Nicky crossed her face with queer. “You were not supposed to kill me, right?”
Before Ingrid could answer, Maggie withdrew from hugging Ivan and turned to Ingrid. “And you, Ingrid. How are you here? Where am I?”

Nicky turned to Maggie and announced. “Hamerton.”

Maggie was shocked.

20 facts about Hamerton

CREATIVE WRITING multtalentedp.blogspot.com is running a special edition to give 20 facts about the trending story; Hamerton, toward the conclusion of it.

Our viewers and visitors from Facebook get the chance of giving the facts that we broadcast here occasionally and well... become part of the amazing story!

SOHOT SOHOR HOR ....
Mmh....

Hallow viewers.
The original name of the sect hunting Hamerton was 'The Parliament'.
'The Parliament' was what Ingrid, Trevor, Erin and Natalie mentioned, referring to the evil sect trying to bring down their school.
On writing the story a few years later, 2015 I thought of coming up with perhaps, a cooler name.
So, I took an excerpt from my very first novel, and decided to call the sect; SOHOT.

SOHOT in this story, Hamerton stands for; Secret Organization of the House of Representatives
also Senior Organization of the House of Representatives.

The 'T' instead of 'R' is meant to make the organization more secretive!

A fact close to that, is the original idea of The House of Representatives.
I owe this to my Civics teacher in O-level.
I was inspired by the Parliament structure, design and The House of Representatives as our teacher taught us and I thought of writing a fictitious story about it.
I assumed the Monitors as members of Parliament, the Ministers being chose from among them and added the touch of a female President.

So, there you have it, the third fact  of the 20 facts about Hamerton

HAMERTON 2 Chapter 3- Final episode

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.

Hamerton. A large school offering the finest Education to the students of the state and overseas. Natalie joins this school arriving from Brooklyn and she has grief over her lost friends who were murdered in Hamerton. She teams up with Ingrid and their fellow seniors against the House of Representatives to prevent a bomb blast that could cause a large massacre.

Happy weekend viewers!

Previously on Hamerton; Ivan finds Ingrid alone in Natalie's office, looking for the President's badge. They both have to find Natalie, to get the badge before she gives it up to Archibald, at the emergency assembly at nine.
Natalie bumps into Archibald who openly shows his hate toward her and humiliates her in front of the press. She has to follow him into the theater where all students are gathering to watch her resign.

Continue into the final episode of this Chapter of Hamerton

Ivan and Ingrid searched for Natalie in vain. As the time went, Ivan realized that he did not have the opportunity to announce the emergency assembly. Thanks to HAD TV, everyone knew where to gather even before it struck 9 ‘O’ clock.
At that time, Natalie found herself standing behind the decibel without her written speech. She did not have the time to meet up with Ivan and collect the speech. She regretted to have left her office in the first place. Maybe, together, they would have come up with a plan to combat the situation.
Now, facing an audience who highly anticipated her downfall, Natalie was cornered.
She shut her eyes for some seconds, searching for words that could at least, hide her shame. Not for something that she did but, for all the things that bad people spread about her.
She remembered her mom’s words about praying and being strong and all the good things. She just hoped that they would work at that time. She then took in a deep breath and opened her eyes.
She greeted but, as she expected, there was no response.
She sighed. The spectators were so discouraging. And to think that, it was this people that elected her.
Yes! ‘People who elected her’. That would be her pick up line!
She smiled a little and took in a deep breath, bracing herself to address the students. “Early this year on February 17th, I, Natalie Bradley, monitor of the student class of the Democratic Party that is, Class D was elected by majority vote of the Hamerton students, to become the 15th President of Hamerton School in Hamerton, succeeding the 14th President, Trevor Tommy, former monitor of the Senior class of the Solidarity party that is Class S. The elections that took place at the same time, marked the first transition of the student government of Hamerton from the two decade rule of the Solidarity Party of the senior students to the Democratic party that was supported by many students of Hamerton.” she paused and there were many blunt expressions given by the audience. “I will not be bragging if I say that, these elections were the most truthful and fare. There were many celebrations in Hamerton after the Democratic Party won. Many students were tired of the almost endless regime of the Solidarity party that, was filled with class division, improper use of power and regretfully, loss of our fellow Hamerton students.”
There were nods.
“In my time, I struggled to reconcile the two major classes; the Solidarity and the Democratic. I managed to achieve this by forming a coalition government where, I chose the Vice President from the Solidarity Party, Mr. Sylvester Fish and picked Ministers from the same party as well as from other subclasses such us the Republic class, class R and Transformation class, class T. These, along with the Democratic class formed the Hamerton government that ruled in equity and peace throughout my time. And as we may have noticed,” she paused to add a little bit informally, “Nowadays, we have couples coming from different classes and Mr. and Ms. Hamerton title this year went to Brendan Bryson and Anitha Jordan, both alumni of class S and class R students of Hamerton.” she paused and there were more nods and chuckles.
She smiled a little, feeling encouraged. “Apart from that, the new government managed to bring Development to our school by authorizing formation of private institutions such as the M ‘n’ E Paper which was an idea of Miss Ingrid S Tommy, founded and supported by all the class D and S members, in memory of our students; Michael Morningstar and Erin Shawn. M ‘n’ E provides weekly news to the Hamerton community.
“We also have Hamerton All Day TV and the Junior Bakery which run smoothly as part of Hamerton institutions.
“Students of Hamerton. As you may have been well informed, the relationship between me and the Head girl of one of Hamerton’s partner schools, Paula Moure was not working perfectly. I would like to explain the event that happened yesterday night but, to do that, I first have to narrate to you correctly,” she emphasized, “how everything happened.”
The audience was silent, attentive.
“Paula Moure and I met for the first time, here in Hamerton, when I was an MP. She came as a member of the House of Representative group to be a part of the planning of the international debate competitions that later took place in Berlin, Germany.” She paused, recalling. “I was recommended to be among the speakers who represented Hamerton in the competitions in Berlin and when I arrived there, it was evident that, I was going to lead Hamerton to the finals and perhaps, win the cup for our school.” She paused and there were nods of assertions. “St. Ann Marie was our only challenge or at least, we were their biggest challenge. I believe that, Miss Moure realized that and for whatever her reasons, plotted to harm me.
“I will not get into too much details but, the efforts of Paula to take my life, caused the end of my friend and member of the House of Representatives, Ashleigh Smith.” She said as her eyes filled with tears. “Ashleigh died awfully and Paula Moure was arrested for it. After returning back home in New York, I was called to the hearing of Paula’s case in France but, I did not go. I did not want to repay Paula for the harm that, she did to me and to my friend, Ashleigh. I believe that, due to insufficient evidence, Paula Moure and her accomplice, Lucie, were released and obviously, resumed their duties as students and members of the HOR.” She paused to check the audience expressions. Most of them were frowning.
“Yesterday, we hosted the HOR in our school and had a private meeting where I did revoke the allegiance of Hamerton with SOHOR, basing on the negligence of the action of Paula to another member of the HOR and other reasons that are a matter of School security.” She said and there were gasps and murmurs. She neglected that and went on. “Yesterday night while I was in the bathroom, Paula came to attack me. She had a pipe in her hand that she was going to hit me with, claiming that, she came to finish the business that she started.
“I tried to calm her but, she was more than willing to end my life. She hit me on the stomach and on the back with the pipe and lying on the ground, the only way that I could keep myself from being killed was to kick her foot.” She sighed. “Paula fell on her back and hit the sink. As I learned later, she injured her head pretty badly.
“Students of Hamerton. I would like to make it clear that, I had no intention of getting back at Paula for the murder of my friend. If I did, then, I would have done that by appearing at the hearing of her case in France and perhaps, ensure her life sentence. If at all you were misled to believe that, I took advantage of our privacy and the absence of secret cameras in the bathrooms, to hit Paula against the sink, then,  I would like to clarify to you today that, I did no such thing. If you follow the case you will find out that, Paula had only one injury on the head while I, broke some ribs and am actually leaning on one side to reach anywhere. That means that, if, I was determined to harm her then, I would have purposely inflict as many injuries as possible on her body, something which, she was doing to me. The wound on Paula, which I regret to have been forcefully caused to cause, was an absolute accident.” She said and sighed deeply while the audience supported her statement with many nods and yes’s.
She took in a deep breath searching for her friends in the crowd. There was Ingrid at the theater entrance, crying. Ivan held her for support.
Natalie looked at the board of directors at the high table and met her gaze with Madam Sue’s. The lady seemed equally sorry.
Natalie sighed and felt her pocket where the original golden-inscribed President’s badge, was.
Yes. She was giving it up. She was reclining from the mission to save Hamerton.
Giving the speech, she already decided to go to London to see Trevor before returning to New York for good.
She took of the badge off, releasing a tear. “I will not deny that, I am a victim of circumstances. I would have loved to keep on governing Hamerton and realize my dreams for this school, Trevor’s dreams.” She said emotionally, thinking about him. “But, to clear my image and to show my integrity and absolute sincerity that I have never meant to harm anyone,” she shut her eyes exhaling. “I, Natalie Bradley the 15th President of Hamerton school in Hamerton, hereby resign from being President and step down from power with the rest of my government, to pave way for the upcoming elections for leaders, who will be true, just, kind, honest and have all the good intentions for the Hamerton Community.” She said, accompanied by many sorrowful sighs. “I am so sorry Hamerton if I ever let you down. Please, don’t hesitate to consult me about anything that you think can raise our school to the next levels. I promise that, for as long as I am here, my ever sincere aid will never fail, to you.” she concluded, releasing tears of sadness.
By this time, Archibald had already proudly walked to the platform to collect the badge. “Cut the crap Miss Bradley. We all know who you really are.” He told her.
She shook her head. “No, sir you don’t. I never meant to hurt Hamerton.”
“Just give me the badge and go already.” He urged her.
She handed him the President’s badge and stepped down the stage, walking down the aisle across the theater.
All the students rose, applauding and calling;

PRESIDENT! PRESIDENT! PRESIDENT!

Natalie was not at all comforted by their praise. She already decided never to run again.

Archibald took the mic. “Okay, okay. Stop the commotion.” He said, sparsely calming the crowd. “From now on, the government will be acted by the Discipline committee. All monitors however, are still holding their duties. You will be notified when you will have the next General election.

Ivan pushed the door of Natalie’s office open with her speech in hand. He found Ingrid alone, shuffling some documents from the desk drawer.
“What are you looking for?” He asked.
“The badge but, it’s not here.” She said and paused searching, sighing. “I just hope that she doesn't give it up. It’s the only thing that could save Hamerton.”
Ivan glanced at the desk and saw the President’s badge. “Isn't that it?”
“No. The real one has golden inscriptions. When we stole it from Archibald’s office, he could not replace it with another with gold inscriptions. He used bronze.”
Ivan nodded in understanding then asked. “Whose idea was it to put a…” he looked for words. “?Bomb terminating device in a badge anyway?”
“Trevor.”
Ivan raised his eyebrows. He was perplexed. “Why?” He asked.
Ingrid sighed first and reclined to the President’s chair before telling him. “Well, he thought that the attack would take place in his reign but, once they were threatened by him, they postponed it till after his retire.”
“So, what does it actually do? Undo the bombs?”
Ingrid shrugged. “No one knows except him.”
Didn't he tell you?”
“He should be able to. Only, we haven’t had luck communicating with him.”
Ivan was silent.
“Do you know when Natalie has to announce her resignation?” she asked.
“Yes. Archibald phoned me and bawled at me to announce an urgent assembly to the students in the theater at nine.”
“Oh we have less than thirty minutes to get that badge.” She said in worry. “Does Natalie already know?”
“I don’t think so. Unless she was told, no.”
Ingrid rose. “I have to find her.”
“We both have. I have to deliver this to her as well.” He said waving the speech papers in his hand.
“What did you write in there anyway?”
“Oh. That she is resigning because she is taking accountability of what happened to Paula.”
Ingrid frowned. “She didn't do anything to Paula.”
“I know that. But, her defense is by far, what the ‘Hamertonians’ want to hear.”
Ingrid shook her head with disappointment.
“C’mon. Let’s find Natalie.”
Ingrid nodded and followed him out.

=====

“Natalie Bradley?”
Natalie almost jumped on her feet when she heard Archibald’s voice calling behind her.
She was at the door of the computer lab of the chief building when Archibald called her.
She turned around slowly, taking a deep breath to confront the school principal. “Good morning sir?” she greeted, weakly.
“There is nothing good about this morning. After you broke of the engagement of Hamerton with SOHOR and almost killed one of its members.” He reckoned, aggravatingly.
“Sir, I promise that, Paula hurt me first. She was going to kill me. And about SOHOR, I intended to get Hamerton a new allegiance.”
“Oh please?” he whined. “That is pathetic and stupidity. Everyone knows that you were not satisfied with the case of your deceased friend, Ashleigh. Besides that, you blamed the SOHOR for not reprimanding her.”
“Sir, you are all misled by the rumors spreading about my feelings towards Paula’s fate after Ashleigh’s death.”
He rounded his eyes. “Whatever. It doesn’t matter now because, you are no longer President.”
She was silent, looking down.
“Now, come with me to the theater. There you will announce your resignation.”
She looked worriedly at him. “Right now sir? I thought that, I would have a few more days. Or… at least, hours.”
“Don’t worry, I convinced the discipline panel to lessen your burden of recklessly governing Hamerton.”
She frowned.
He laughed cynically and turned around. “Oh how I can’t wait to strip you off your authorities.” He said loud enough to irritate her. “Follow me.”
Natalie glanced the computer lab’s door and sighed. She then turned to Archibald and escorted him to the theater in the ground floor.
They met with reporters just after their elevator cubicle opened. Archibald made sure to get as much coverage as he humiliated Natalie.
“Well, it is a pity that we could have such incompetent leaders.” Archibald said to the reporter of Hamerton All Day, a new TV that he sponsored, aside from the school Television station.
Showing entertainment programs and various uncredited live shows, HAD TV had gained much popularity in Hamerton than HTV.
Natalie sighed at Archibald’s rude comment about her to the reporter. She however, chose to answer no questions to the press.

They presumed the journey to the theater where Natalie was sure that, she was going to proclaim her demise ..

HAMERTON Chapter 3-episode 10

Hallo dear viewers.

Previously on Hamerton;Natalie is discharged from the clinic and shows her concern about Paula's health. The doctor tells her and St. Ann Marie girls who came to visit, that Paula is out of danger and that she will be transfered to a hospital in London. Cheryl convinces Natalie to address the Hamerton students about what happened between her and Paula.

Continue;

 Today

Natalie stood nervously at the door of Madam Sue’s office. The director called Natalie soon after she went on air with HTV, unfolding the events that happened in the conference hall with SOHOR and in the bathroom with Paula Moure.
Natalie took in a deep breath and knocked.
“Come in.” Madam sounded from inside the office and Natalie opened the door to enter.
She beheld the lady’s extravagant office, fancily furnished with mahogany. The floor was covered by a brown carpet, and there were expensive paintings on the wall
Madam Sue herself sat behind a desk, wearing a brown suit. She held a pen in her hand and fixed her gaze upon Natalie when she walked in. “How are you Natalie?”
“Doing better ma’am. Good morning?”
“Good morning. Please, have a seat.” The lady replied, waving to a pair of chairs in front of her desk.
Natalie walked forward and occupied one of the seats and then waited to hear what the madam had to say.
“Can you tell me what happened?” Madam Sue began the conversation with a question.
Natalie took in a deep breath and begun. “I was in the bathroom when Paula came to attack me. She had a pipe in her hand. She hit me twice with it. She was going to hit me again if I hadn’t defended myself.” She paused, to add with tears of regret tingling her eyes. “I had no intention of injuring her. I was hardly aware that she knocked herself to a sink. Ma’am, I didn't do anything on purpose. She was going to attack me.”
Madam Sue nodded, showing to accept her statement.
Natalie sighed with relief. “Thank you madam, thank you for believing me.”
“I do Natalie. When I first saw you, I liked you because, you reminded me of my younger self.” She said and suddenly sighed. “I could support you in the discipline meeting to keep you from expulsion but,” she paused.
Natalie furrowed her eyebrows. “But what ma’am?”
“You have to lose your seat.” The lady announced.
Natalie’s mouth dropped open with shock, gasping. “You mean… I,” she swallowed, “I can’t be President?”
Madam Sue nodded.
“But, why?” Natalie asked, frowning. “I didn't do anything. Paula hit me, she was going to kill me. Was I supposed to die?”
“Calm down Natalie.”
Natalie sighed. “I am sorry. I just, I just don’t understand why I have to lose my seat. I can be President. I have to be President.” She cried.
“Natalie it’s the French girls’ statement against yours and all of Hamerton knows that you were unsatisfied with the judgment that the SOHOR gave Paula. It is in the school paper.”
Natalie was silent. She now recalled her speech in the private meeting with the SOHOR. Sylvester. The name came to her mind. She believed that he was the one who leaked their agenda to the press to taint her governance. He was so upset when she broke the allegiance.
Madam Sue shook her head in dismay. “So, it is true.” She concluded.
“No ma’am. I can explain. I broke off with SOHOR for the better of Hamerton.”
“Natalie, that allegiance is 23 years old. Hamerton has benefited so much from it. Whatever your reasons, you had no right to break the engagement.”
“Madam Sue, you don’t understand.” She cried. “I didn't have any selfish reasons when I broke off with SOHOR.” She said, assuming that by ‘reasons’, the lady referred to Paula. “I know how well the allegiance has served Hamerton and how the school’s name has grown because of it. But, I thought that, Hamerton needs a new allegiance, which our school can be supreme leader. I already planned to make communications with schools in America,” she paused, trying to come up with convincing arguments. “New York!” She exclaimed. “Yes, everybody dreams of going to New York.”
“Natalie, didn't you think of adding your ‘New York’ schools to our mother allegiance?”
“No. I want that to be in a separate or rather new allegiance.”
Madam Sue shook her head, seemingly unconvinced. “Even so, Natalie. CCTV cameras caught you and another guy, kissing in the leaders’ quarters.”
Natalie frowned. “I haven’t been kissing anyone in the leaders’ quarters.”
“Trevor, perhaps?”
Natalie was silent, recalling the time when Trevor came to see her in the leaders’ quarters.
“Natalie. You are the top leader of Hamerton. You ought to know better than to give a bad example. You know the rules. The leaders’ quarters are the first place to be honored in all of Hamerton. I mean, you are not allowed to kiss anywhere but, since we can’t control students, at least, we want you to respect those quarters.”
Natalie looked down, feeling embarrassed.
“Natalie. I can’t fight for you any longer. Perhaps, you can run for President in the next elections. If the students still accept you, then, you can have your seat back.”
Natalie looked at her. “Madam, please?” she begged. She did not want to lose the badge. It was the only thing that could save Hamerton.
“No, Natalie. I am sorry.”
Natalie sighed, releasing tears.
“Give me your green card. You will give up your badge to Mr. Archibald in front of all Hamerton students when you to tell them why you are resigning.”
“Please?” Natalie asked again.
Madam Sue extended her hand in response.
Reluctantly, Natalie felt her coat pocket for her President’s mandate card. She gave it to the lady, sighing.
“I am so sorry Natalie.” The lady said sincerely. “But, take it from me that, if you resign, the students will find you accountable. They could elect you again as the next President.”
Natalie was silent.
“Thank you. You may leave now.” The lady said.
Natalie rose. “Thanks’ ma’am. You have done a lot for me.”
“I believe in you.”
Natalie smiled and walked out.
Outside the lady’s office, Natalie met Ivan and Ingrid anxiously waiting for her.
She broke into a cry and immediately fell in Ingrid’s arms. “It’s over Ingrid, we lost.” She sobbed.
Ingrid rubbed her friend’s back, widening her eyes in terror. She could not believe what Natalie just told her.

Continue;

Ingrid sat on a waiting bench with Cheryl and Fred, the next morning at 6am. They waited anxiously for Natalie to be discharged and hear news about Paula.
They were both admitted in the school clinic and Natalie had minor injuries compared to Paula.
Ingrid rose when she saw Natalie appearing from the corridor leading to the waiting room.
Natalie limped on one foot and groped on the wall for support. Before Ingrid walked forward, nurse May, who was at the receptionist’s desk, dashed to Natalie to receive her.
“Are you doing alright?” The nurse asked.
“I will be fine.” Natalie replied shortly. She could not get over what she may have done to Paula.
“Natalie.” Ingrid called, approaching them.
The nurse parted from them and Ingrid hugged her friend. “I was so worried.”
Natalie hugged Ingrid back, strongly. She needed the support of a friend so much.
Ingrid drew back and checked her friend. “How are you doing? Are you doing alright? Do you need anything?”
“Yes.” Natalie replied. “I want to know if Paula’s alive.”
Ingrid frowned. “What? After what she did to you?”
“Ingrid, nothing is deserving the loss of someone’s life. Please, tell me how Paula is.”
“Natalie?”
Natalie looked behind Ingrid and noticed Cheryl and her camera man for the first time. She smiled at them. “Hi.”
“Sorry for what happened to you.” Cheryl added on behalf of her and Fred.
“Thank you Cheryl. Now, can anyone tell me what happened to Paula?” She asked before a new group of the St. Ann Marie students entered the clinic from the open swing doors in front of them.
Lucie, who also escaped prison, led the group and frowned when she saw Natalie. “You! You are a murder! How could you do that to my friend?” she growled.
Natalie gulped. Paula died?? She took in a deep breath and told Lucie. “I had no intention of killing your friend. She came to the bathroom to attack me.” She defended herself.
Lucy’s face folded with rage. “You are a liar!” she shouted.
“Okay. Stop it! All of you.” Nurse May ordered, standing behind the reception desk. “Nobody’s dead, alright?”
Natalie sighed with relief.
“But, still. She deserves to be jailed for trying to kill her.” Lucie insisted.
Ingrid stepped in front of Natalie, getting mad at Lucie. “Don’t you even feel ashamed of yourself when you say that? Everybody knows how you and Paula, murdered Natalie’s friend in Berlin during the international competitions. Natalie wasn't bold enough to be witness to the hearing against you but, if it wasn't for that, you two would be rotting in prison for what you did.”
Lucie was silent, biting her lower lip in anger.
Just then Dr. Gamaliel arrived the waiting room from the corridor and greeted with amazement, the fisty atmosphere.
Natalie turned to him. “Doctor, how is Paula doing?”
“So, now you are acting like you care.” Lucie reckoned rudely.
The doctor glanced at Lucie and looked back at Natalie. “She is out of danger.” He begun and Natalie sighed with relief. “For now.” He added, breaking Natalie’s spirit.
“What is going to happen to her doctor? She hit her head pretty bad.” Lucie asked.
The doctor turned to her. “She has to be transferred to a referral hospital in London. I will talk to Madam Sue now.”
“Amh, can we get coverage on what happened, doctor?” Cheryl asked, as Fred raised the camera he had, recording the doctor.
The doctor took a moment to decide then replied. “Okay. Wait here till I get back from the director’s office.”
“Can we see her?” Lucie asked on behalf of her friends who escorted her.
“Yes of course but, one by one.” He agreed and turned to the nurse. “Nurse May, please escort her to emergency ward.
“Yes doctor.” The nurse said and requested the French girls to follow her.
The doctor left and Cheryl and her camera man turned to Natalie.
“Natalie, can we interview you?” Cheryl asked.
“I am so tired Cheryl.” Natalie whined. She was in no mood of publicity.
“But, Natalie? You are the President and a lot has been going on around campus since yesterday. Everybody thinks that you tried to get back at Paula for the murder of your friend by killing her.” Cheryl informed.
Natalie’s mouth dropped open with shock. “But, I never meant to harm her. She hit me with a heavy pipe. She was going to render me cripple if I hadn't tried anything. I don’t know what else I could have done to defend myself.”
“So, you pushed her to the sink.” Cheryl concluded.
Natalie frowned. “No! How can you say that? I didn't push her.” She cried feeling indignant. “I tried to keep her from hitting me. She hit her head on the sink. That’s what happened.”

Fred directed the camera toward Natalie. “That’s what Hamerton needs to know.”
