“Sir, I’m sorry but, I do not have leadership skills.” Natalie begged rising. Her shock at the moment probably dismissed everyone else from her perspective. It left her and the enemy; the bloody governance of Hamerton.
“Hey, hey, heey! Can we all respect that we’re in a classroom? I’m your teacher and, I got those orders from your authorities. Miss Natalie, you’re a chosen MP. Steven, you’ll allocate to class S later and as for the rest you, show me my assignments.” The teacher said.
Natalie dropped back on her seat, frowning. Steven’s face folded with anger. Ingrid, who stood in front of the teacher’s desk sighed. She did not say anything to keep her monitor in the class. She did not appreciate his disposition but, Natalie was her best friend.
Erin, a victim of the Parliament sects just shook her head. To her, it was nothing new.

Chapter Eight: The House Of Representatives

The Parliament of Hamerton was like a National Parliament. It made laws, govern the school, hear and discussed cases of the students. They also discussed things like sports competition and celebrations.
Whenever they discussed about inter-school competitions or inter-school celebrations, they invited some of the students of those schools to take part in the preparations and planning. With visitors, the Parliament was transformed into The House Of Representatives.
The visitors hang around for three to four days or even a week till they finalized the details of venue, entrance fee, food, drinks and etcetera.
This term, The House Of Representatives of Hamerton had visitors from Netherlands and Germany. The topic was inter-school debate that were to occur in August of that year during a one month holiday.
Natalie was present during one of those gatherings. She already had a month of Parliamentary experience since she was chosen. The evening of that day after Mr. Francis broke the news in class, she got a chance to meet and talk to Trevor. He heard her complain, which she did for a long time and he said “I understand.” He gave her some leadership tips assuring her that, even if she wanted to, she would not get the chance to resign.
She felt like she could listen to him. She saw Steven the next day and expressed just how much she did not mean to replace him. Just like Trevor, Steve told her that she would not get the opportunity to resign. She was supposed to bear with everything. But, Steve himself did not show that his demotion affected him negatively. The only thing he did not like was to leave class D.

So, Natalie joined the Parliament.

stay tuned...
