Chapter 3 : THE PARLIAMENT

The hall had many seats neatly arranged like the theater seats that Caitlin saw the day before. However, these were separated by a stair from each row. In the bottom floor was the speaker’s seat with a silver scepter right in front of it, held t up by a wooden stand.
The girl with Caitlin walked further into the hall leaving her staring around with amusement standing by the large swing doors. Later the girl appeared holding the ears of two primary kids who were hiding in the seats.
“How did you get in here?” the girl scolded.
The young boys squirmed trying to free to free themselves.
“Don’t hurt them!” Caitlin defended.
Their voices echoed within the room.
“Give way!” the girl scowled at Caitlin.
“Sister?” one of the boys cried after the girl released them close to the hall entrance.
“Ralph?” Caitlin responded and knelt down to reach Ralph’s height. The only lights in the room were the moonlight penetrating through the glass walls of the hall and Caitlin’s torchlight. The school was oddly dark.
“Is he your relative?” the girl asked Caitlin.
“He’s my brother.” Caitlin said to her.
“They are in big trouble now.”
Caitlin stretched herself holding Ralph’s hand. “Please don’t tell on them.” She begged and then turned to Ralph. “Why and how did you come here?”
Ralph turned to the boy next to him. “He led me.”
“Well…” the other boy tried to say something.
“How did you get in here?” The other girl half shouted.
“There’s a way from our premises that leads here. Then we took the stairs and we got here. We saw the door open and got in.” Randolph said slightly worried.
“That is a lie. The doors of this place are always locked.” The girl insisted.
The boys were silent. A sound of footsteps close to the place interrupted them. They quickly ran to a store room and hid themselves. A guard passed and Caitlin whispered, “There’s nothing that we can do. Let’s just let them go.”
The girl hesitated but then agreed, “Okay.”
Caitlin kissed her brother and they parted.
