Caitlin stood beside another girl around her own age at the entrance of a large theater, the school theater. It had many seats before an extended platform with closed curtains. The theater was empty when they walked in.
“This is very big.” Caitlin admitted.
“It fits the whole school.” The other girl said.
“Even the primary?”
“No. This is for secondary pupils only. The place for all of us is the HAMERTON STADIUM.”
“Oh. And where is it?”
“It’s built separated from the school campus. Just as the dormitories are.” She paused, “when the FOOTBALL INTERSCHOOL COMPETITIONS begin, you’ll see it.”
“Oh. Okay.”
They walked out, closed the door behind them and began strolling together in the corridors passing many students as they went.
“Among the places you should really see,” the girl begun, “is the school PARLIAMENT.”
“School parliament? Why? We also had a parliament back at my other school.”
“Well, not this one. Avoid that place and its members.” She warned.
“Who are they?”
“The members, ministers, The Speaker. You know?”
“Oh. Tell me more.”
“Well, THE PARLIAMENT consists of the MPs who are actually the monitors of each class, ministers who are prefects” she paused to elaborate. “Concerned with Environment, Academic, Sports, Arts, Discipline and etcetera. The speaker is the vice or head prefect.”
“The President?” Caitlin inquired.
“No the President does not attend parliamentary activities. He’s the President of HAMERTON schools but a student.”
Caitlin nodded and asked. “And who’s the current president?”
“Trevor Tommy. People call him Double T.”
Caitlin raised her eyebrows in astonishment.
