HAMERTON 2 Chapter 3- episode 2

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.
Hallo new viewers and Happy and Peaceful elections Tanzania!

Hamerton. A large school offering the finest Education to the students of the state and overseas. Natalie joins this school arriving from Brooklyn and she has grief over her lost friends who were murdered in Hamerton. She teams up with Ingrid and their fellow seniors against the House of Representatives to prevent a bomb blast that could cause a large massacre.

Previously on Hamerton; Natalie is caught off guard by the news that the House Of Representatives are visiting their school and she reproaches Ivan for not telling her about it. Natalie, Ingrid and Ivan are seemingly in panic by what the HOR visit entail.
She has summoned her Vice and Minister of Dorm affairs.
Paula, the St. Ann Marie girl who had grudges against Natalie, was arrested for Ashleigh's murder. Paula had originally intended to harm Natalie.

Continue;

Natalie walked behind her desk and sat on her chair. She pulled a drawer of the desk and exposed the original President's badge, on top of a couple of papers. She had moved it to that side of her desk, after going through a heavy interrogation in Archibald’s office. He reprimanded her for losing the badge and gave her several warnings. Now that, she was in tension, she felt the need to keep it even closer.
She exchanged the bronze inscripted President’s badge on her coat with the gold inscripted badge in the drawer.
“I will keep you here from now on.” she vainly told the original badge that was now on her coat pocket.
Trevor had promised to teach her how it worked to save the school. With the HOR arriving, it was obvious that their D-Day was approaching.
“Our days are numbered.” She reminded herself.
Her door sounded knocking and she called for her guests to get in.
Sylvester, her vice President and also the monitor of the senior S class walked in.
Yes, Natalie had managed to join the two classes through a coalition government.
Sylvester was accompanied by Robert Geiger who was a member of the most insignificant class label in Hamerton, Class R. Robert was the Minister of Dorm Affairs of Hamerton, who largely coordinated with the school administration.
“Good afternoon Miss President.” Sylvester greeted first.
“Good afternoon miss?” Robert added.
“Good afternoon. Please? Have a seat.” She said, waving to the wooden chairs in front of her desk.
They thanked and walked forward to occupy the seats.
“Sylvester, I think that you are well informed that Hamerton is receiving the auspicious visit of the House of Representatives.”
“Yes. I was going to let you know but,” Sylvester agreed and begun defending himself.
“There is no use hovering about that.” Natalie cut him short. “I just want you to tell me the schools which are visiting us and whatever agenda they are bringing.”
“Okay amh,” Sylvester said and excused himself to take out a notepad from his coat pocket.
Natalie also found a loose paper and pen on her desk, useful. “Go on.”
“Okay. There is Riktig Måte High school from Oslo, Norway. Oliver Geniuses institute, Scotland. Amh…” he paused having second thoughts about continuing.
“Spit it out, Sylvester. I already know.” Natalie said, trying to wear him off of his worries.
Sylvester nodded. “St. Ann Maurien from France. And,”
“Who is the leader of the delegate from France?” She asked, just to confirm Ivan’s words.
Sylvester glanced at her fearfully. “Paula Moure.”
Natalie sighed, looking away. “I don’t believe this.” She said.
“Miss President, she will not be able to harm you because security has improved in Hamerton.” Sylvester tried to comfort her.
She glanced at him. Though she tried to, she could not help but, get worried. The name Paula reminded her of how Ashleigh died awfully during the inter-school competitions in Berlin.
Remembering the white and stone dead body of Ashleigh, lying on a pool of blood, at the landing of their duplex home staircase, Natalie rose in anger. “I will talk to Madam Sue, I will call off the HOR meeting in Hamerton. Barely a year has gone by since we hosted the last meeting. Isn't it a turn of another school?” She argued desperately.
“It’s already late Miss President. I and your secretary were also battling to reschedule the meeting or perhaps, cancel it but, we could not. The HOR argument for not altering the venue of the meeting is that, Hamerton has a new governance which must be inaugurated in the HOR system.”
“You mean SOHOR?” Natalie asked, remembering the clause from one of the constitution books of governing Hamerton.
“Yes.” Sylvester agreed.
Natalie was silent.
“Miss President you are aware that the government of Hamerton is practically nullified without being recognized by SOHOR.” Sylvester reminded.
Natalie sighed and sat back. “Can’t we ban some individuals?” she asked. “Paula perhaps?”
“You do have power of the President.” Robert contributed for the first time after a while.
Natalie glanced at him and remain quiet, thinking of various possibilities.
“We can’t do anything yet. Until they arrive.” Sylvester said.
Natalie looked at him then, having made a decision, turned back to Robert. “Robert. What is the status of the dorms?”
“There are few rooms left, miss.”
“Please get me the accurate statistics and, immediately see if the rooms’ conditions are welcoming.” She ordered.
Robert nodded and rose. “With your permission.” He said and left.
She turned back to Sylvester. “Sylvester. I want to change the constitution.”
Sylvester furrowed his eyebrows in puzzlement. “What?”
“You said it. I am the President. I want to change the constitution. I want to remove Hamerton from the System of Organization of The House Of Representatives.”
“Miss Natalie, you know that if you do that, then Hamerton will not be able to enjoy the full benefits of the SOHOR. Including the; international competitions, festivals or… exchange group programs.”
“I do understand that, Sylvester but, I think that it is about time that Hamerton forms a new allegiance.”
“Miss President, Riktig Måte, Oliver Geniuses, Neumann Oberschule, St. Ann Maurien, Green Acres and the rest, are one of the top schools in Europe and America. If we withdraw from their organization, our school will go down drastically. The rank that Hamerton has earned and the position that the former President, Trevor Tommy managed to give it, will all come to nothing.” He recounted a bit angrily. “Please, do not make a decision that will cost Hamerton everything.”
Natalie took a few seconds to take his opinion into consideration but, she remained unpersuaded. The HOR were after all, the people who were going to destroy their school. If she could do something to keep them far away from Hamerton, then she would.
“Sylvester. If you give me some time and if we both cooperate then we can find other collaborators who are more powerful and prominent than the SOHOR member schools.” She said and gaining ideas, added. “I can come up with allies from America. Yes. I know a lot of schools starting from my former school in New York City. The Hamerton community will like to be part of a coordination with institutions from America.” She said and then added unprofessionally, “Everybody loves going to America.”
He shook his head. “It’s not possible. We can’t break the connection.”
Natalie leaned forward with her hands on the table. “We will.”
He frowned. “What will we tell the press? And Hamerton? How will they react?” he asked indignantly. “Miss Natalie, we can’t risk our necks to the public. They will lynch us.”
“Nobody is going to lynch anybody, Sylvester. Not if they know what the new allegiance will provide.” She assured him, straightening her back.
“Do you know the cost of detaching from SOHOR?”
“Tell me?”
“Everything.”
Natalie was silent. She did not understand the magnitude of his sentence and that was what made her worry.
“Miss Natalie, think about this.” He said. “I understand your fear of Miss Moure but, you can deal with her separately from the rest of the allegiance. Do not do anything that you will regret. I will tell you again, breaking the connection will cost Hamerton everything.”
She drew in a deep sigh and remained silent.
He rose. “Please allow me to prepare your speech of welcoming them.”
“Ivan is already working on that.” she replied, looking away.
“Okay.” He said and turned to leave.
“Wait?” She called.
He turned back to her. “Yes Miss President?”
“Doesn't the school Board of Directors have any say in this?”
“Hardly. The full power of governance is vested on you and the rest of the association.”
She nodded somberly and he left.
