Yesterday
“Maggreth? Maggie?” Corny called, banging his wife’s apartment door.
There was silence.
“Maggreth! Maggreth! Open up.” He shouted.
“It’s alright am coming. You don’t have to bring the door down.” Maggie sounded from the living room, making Corny sigh with relief.
He waited until a lock was loosened from the inside and his wife appeared in a bathing robe. Her hair was covered with foam and she seemed to have come from the bathroom.
She greeted Corny with a surprised look on her face. “What’s wrong with you?”
“No time to explain.” He said, taking her hand and maneuvering her back inside the house. “We have to leave. Now!” he announced.
“What’s going on Howls? What are you saying?” she asked, staring at him with queer.
He looked around the living room that they had walked into, checking for security.
“Howls?” she snapped at him.
He glanced at her and begun holding her. “Are you okay? Did anyone come to hurt you? Are you alright?”
She smiled. “Aaw… you are worried about me.”
“Of course I am.”
She caressed his face, looking into his eyes. “I am fine my darling. And, I have great news for you.”
“Maggie. That can wait. I have to take you out of here. You, Trevor. We have to leave.”
Maggie furrowed her eyebrows. “Why? Studies are going very well and it’s only a month till the end of the semester. I will graduate at the end of the semester.”
“Maggreth I realize that but, we have to transfer you, I don’t know but, we’ll think of your education later. Your safety comes first.” He said in panic.
“Honey. What happened?” she asked again, feeling amazed by his stress.
He sighed first. “You know Kehlan, Trevor’s friend here in campus?”
She nodded.
“Well, she was invaded last night and the invaders demanded her to tell them about Trevor. Since she had no choice, Kehlan mentioned everything about Trevor and” he took her hands, sighing deeply to add, “you.”
Maggreth was silent, quite shocked by the news.
“Maggie. I can’t risk your life. Not yours nor Trevor’s. We are going to leave London. We are going to leave, now.”
Maggreth swallowed and nodded. “Alright.” She said. “So, what do I have to do now?”
“Pack.” He said, releasing her hands. “Get dressed. I will be back. I have to tell Trevor what I have decided.”
She nodded and he started leaving. “Oh honey?” she called, when he was at the door.
He turned to her. “Yes Maggie?”
She looked at him for a few seconds without saying anything. She noticed that he was in a hurry. “Oh. It’s okay. I’ll tell you later.”
“Okay. I’ll see you soon.” He said and left.
Maggreth remained standing there for a while, contemplating the situation. She was worried about what Corny informed her, that her life and that of Trevor’s were in danger. She and Trevor were the few people that mattered to Corny and the only  that Corny knew, that he could call, family.
At the thought of family in her mind, Maggreth smiled a little. She touched her belly because she just found out that she was pregnant. She could not wait to let Corny know but, that was not the time.
She left the living room to finish her shower and pack her dresses, without knowing that, behind her, the front door, that was not closed, was pushed open, slowly.
A couple of men, dressed in black outfits, tiptoed into the room and followed the path to a corridor that led to Maggie's room, receiving directions from headset receivers.

Trevor was still holding his phone when Corny met him. He was standing below an oak where he had his lunch.
Corny ran to him and Trevor’s face lightened up to receive him.
“Howls. Have you seen your wife?”
“Yes.” Corny replied. “She is fine.” He said shortly and went straight to the point. “We have to leave, Trevor. I’ll get on the phone with your father and tell him what’s going on.”
“No need.” Trevor said waving the phone in his hand. “I have just been on the line with him. He diverted my call to Natalie and received it himself. He knows everything.”
Corny sighed. “Who could have told him?”
“Beats me. But, we do have a lot of people behind the radio and cameras.”
Corny nodded. “So, we have to leave.” He announced.
“Yes.” Trevor agreed somberly. “Father said that, he will have our tickets ready in a few minutes. We have to be at Heathrow in less than an hour.”
“We must be going back to California?” Corny asked.
“I hope so. We will be taking the British Airways so, it also a nonstop flight home.”
“Alright.” Corny assented. “What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be packing or something?”
Trevor nodded. “Yes. I suppose so.”
“Okay. Get whatever you will actually need. Leave no trace that could be useful to SOHOT. I’ll meet you back with Maggie and the others outside the gate in 30 minutes.”
“Howls. What about Natalie? I don’t want to leave her behind. Especially now that she’s in more danger.”
“Trevor, we can worry about that later. You already told me that your father knows everything. We have to sort this out first.”
Trevor sighed. “Okay.”
Corny pat Trevor’s shoulder. “Don’t worry Trevor. Your father might also, not extend your stay there. He could perhaps, let you come to Europe sometime and maybe then, you can see Natalie.”
Trevor shook his head. “Howls. You and I both know that, that is impossible. Dad is over protective with me and he hates the idea of Hamerton or Natalie for that matter.”
“We will find a way.”
Trevor managed a grin. “Thank you for your help and understanding.”
“It’s alright. I would be equally lost if anything bad were to happen to Maggie. She is the love of my life just as Natalie is to you. So, Trevor, I understand you.”
“Thank you Howls.”
“Okay. Let’s part now. We have no time.”

“Sure, sure.”  Trevor agreed and they parted.
