Time
passed, Ingrid went for prep to look for Steven. He was not in class or his
usual study hangout. After half an hour of searching for him, she decided on
going to the senior’s class to find Trevor.
She
climbed the stairs from her class to class H at the top floor of the chief
building. She took in a deep breath before approaching the Seniors’ class.
There
were low murmurs that came out of the room. Maybe, they were discussing
something. She came to the door and pushed it open slowly.
The
murmurs seized when she set foot inside.
Some
of the students that she also knew sat in a small group in a discussion. Nicky
also sat at the end of the room with Samantha. She raised her glance to Ingrid
when she walked in.
“Oh. Isn't it the cousin of the President herself.” A guy from the group with spiky
yellow hair greeted, making Ingrid blush.
“Hi
Charles.” Ingrid called, and looked around the group. “Hi. Has anyone seen
Trevor?”
“No.”
Charles replied. The responses were similar in the group.
“Oh.”
Ingrid sighed.
“Is
everything alright?” Charles asked.
“I
was looking for Steven and since Trevor was the last person with him, I just
hoped that he might have known where Steven is.”
“Steven’s
in the leaders’ quarters.” A girl from the group replied.
“Oh.
He must be with Trevor then.” Ingrid concluded and turned to leave.
“You’re
not going to the leaders’ quarters or are you?” Nicole retorted from the back
benches.
Ingrid
eyed her. She could not stand Nicole from the way she was flirting with Steven
earlier. But, Nicole did not know which side Ingrid was on, yet.
“Yeah.
I hope to find Steven or Trevor there.” Ingrid chose to reply politely.
“Don’t.”
Nicole warned.
Ingrid
furrowed her eyebrows. “I don’t see why not. As far as I know, I still have
rights to that place. We may have retired but, not replaced.” Now she could not
keep it in. “Unlike you Nicole, you were deposed before your time was up.”
Nicole
frowned and Ingrid left with satisfaction.
She started
out to the leaders’ quarters but, on the way and outside the chief building,
she got a call that turned over her whole route.
what call was that? stay tuned to find out?
