20 facts about Hamerton

CREATIVE WRITING multtalentedp.blogspot.com is running a special edition to give 20 facts about the trending story; Hamerton, toward the conclusion of it.

Our viewers and visitors from Facebook get the chance of giving the facts that we broadcast here occasionally and well... become part of the amazing story!

SOHOT SOHOR HOR ....
Mmh....

Hallow viewers.
The original name of the sect hunting Hamerton was 'The Parliament'.
'The Parliament' was what Ingrid, Trevor, Erin and Natalie mentioned, referring to the evil sect trying to bring down their school.
On writing the story a few years later, 2015 I thought of coming up with perhaps, a cooler name.
So, I took an excerpt from my very first novel, and decided to call the sect; SOHOT.

SOHOT in this story, Hamerton stands for; Secret Organization of the House of Representatives
also Senior Organization of the House of Representatives.

The 'T' instead of 'R' is meant to make the organization more secretive!

A fact close to that, is the original idea of The House of Representatives.
I owe this to my Civics teacher in O-level.
I was inspired by the Parliament structure, design and The House of Representatives as our teacher taught us and I thought of writing a fictitious story about it.
I assumed the Monitors as members of Parliament, the Ministers being chose from among them and added the touch of a female President.

So, there you have it, the third fact  of the 20 facts about Hamerton

HAMERTON Chapter 3 episode 5

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.
Hallo new viewers!

Hamerton. A large school offering the finest Education to the students of the state and overseas. Natalie joins this school arriving from Brooklyn and she has grief over her lost friends who were murdered in Hamerton. She teams up with Ingrid and their fellow seniors against the House of Representatives to prevent a bomb blast that could cause a large massacre.

Previously on Hamerton; The HOR arrive Hamerton and Natalie is reluctant to receive them. Ivan meets the Oliver Geniuses who also happens to detest the allegiance and he uses that to encourage Natalie to break the union or at least, ban Paula from being apart of it.
Trevor resolved to tell Natalie to break the union.
Continue;

Trevor stood anxiously at the balcony of their University building, holding his cellphone against his ear. The phone kept on ringing without being received. He cursed and lowered it, trying to call again.
“C’mon pick up the phone Natalie.” He murmured, tapping his phone.
Just then, he felt a hand placed over his shoulder and he turned around quickly.
“Hallow?” Kehlan greeted, standing in front him. She was quite sullen unlike he usually saw her.
“Hi.” He replied.
She glanced at the phone in his hand and later at him. “Sorry, did I interrupt your call with someone?”
“No.” he replied and sighed. “Actually, I have been trying to reach this person and could not succeed.”
“I am sorry for you.” she said in a low and sad voice.
He furrowed his eyebrows. “Everything okay?”
She shook her head slowly. Her eyes also glittered with tears.
He narrowed his eyes. “What’s the matter?”
She blinked quickly, trying to shave away her tears and swallowed. “Can we talk?”
“Sure, sure.” He nodded and added. “At the café perhaps?”
“No. The trysting tree at the east of the theater hall. It’s quitter there.” He suggested.
He nodded. “Okay. Amh… There is a trysting tree inside campus?”
She chuckled, showing her first smile since she arrived. “You clearly do not walk around.”
“Well...” he begun excusing himself. “Maybe not that much.”

Back in Hamerton, Natalie took the stage before the HOR. The Representative students, from various schools, occupied a row of seats in a mini conference hall within block B of Hamerton. Here was where Natalie received the House Of Representatives for the first time since they arrived. She had given instructions not to use the Parliament or the theater for their initial meeting and kept the press out of the discussion.
After greeting, she scanned the speech on the decibel that Ivan prepared for her. She smiled a little and read. “Honorable members of the System of Organization of The House Of Representatives, namely; Hamerton School in Madrid, Hamerton girls’ school in Manchester, Neumann Oberschule, Oliver Geniuses, Riktig måte, St. Ann Marie,” she turned to the spectators. “Hamerton School in Hamerton feels greatly privileged to host you and hold the twenty third annual meeting of the House of Representatives in our campus. I, as President of Hamerton, on behalf of the Hamerton community say; welcome.” She begun and paused for some ‘thank you’s.
She turned back to the paper. “Honourable members of SOHOR, you will find that, over the past months, since our last meeting, a lot of things have changed in Hamerton School in Hamerton. This includes the students’ government which is the vital component of the SOHOR. As it is, the primary pillar of SOHOR, government transitions, within the member schools, must coincide with the inauguration in the SOHOR.” She faced the audience. “Honorable members of SOHOR, I believe that, there are some things that we have not addressed. In the inauguration, which the current government of Hamerton School in Hamerton has not yet gone through, the HOR swear to integrity. Some months ago, contrary to that happened, with a leader of the House Of Representatives causing the brutal death of another member of the HOR.” At this the Oliver Geniuses students nodded in approval. Natalie smiled at that. “Hamerton School in Hamerton, does not think that there is any need to go through the inauguration or even, maintain this allegiance, if the principles of the System of Organization of the House of Representatives are violated without the culprits being, punished.” She said, fixing her gaze on Paula who already seemed restless.
At the Hamerton’s side, Sylvester frowned. That was not what he expected from Natalie. He thought that, they agreed to leave the subject of breaking the allegiance out of the discussion. Ivan, who sat next to him, gave Sylvester an assured smile, signaling him that everything was okay.
Natalie went on, looking at the paper. “I recognize the clause 16 of the Constitution that, any member of the SOHOR can delay or reject the inauguration procedure of the SOHOR if at all the member has a valid complaint against the observation of the pillars of the SOHOR.” She turned to her hearers. “In this case, the death of a member of SOHOR in the hands of another member of SOHOR is more than a valid complaint. Hamerton School in Hamerton has every right to be fearful of the SOHOR given that, the incident that happened eight months ago, was not dealt with.” She paused, steeling herself to add. “Hamerton School in Hamerton hereby place a vote of no confidence on the current leaders of the SOHOR and…" she took in a deep breath and went on, "since, we have not yet been inaugurated…” she searched for Ivan in the room and smiled broadly when their gaze met. “I hereby declare the withdrawal of Hamerton School in Hamerton, from the System of Organization of the House of Representatives.”
“What!” Hans exclaimed along with more other representatives inside the room.
Sylvester could not keep himself from rising and walking straight to the decibel.
“What are you doing?” he snapped at Natalie.
“Keeping my school safe.” She replied.
“You can’t do this!” The leader of the Hamerton School in Madrid called out from the spectators.
Sylvester grabbed the mic, slightly pushing Natalie aside. “Honorable members of SOHOR…” He begun before the microphone stopped working.
He frowned and glared at Ivan who seemed to have been mischievously mastered that.
Ivan had risen from his seat. He neglected Sylvester and turned to the HOR members. “Natalie has every right to do whatever she did.” He told them. “This allegiance has caused nothing more than bloodshed, contrary to the integrity that the members of SOHOR have sworn to. With all due respect, honorable members of the SOHOR, you are now recognized as transfer students from partner schools of Hamerton and not members of some wicked allegiance.”
There were shocked gasps.
“Do you know what you’re doing?” A Riktig måte student asked, rising to respond to Ivan. “Breaking this allegiance will cost you dearly.”
“This is just a misunderstanding.” Sylvester tried to intervene.
“No. It is no misunderstanding.” Alastair disagreed, rising as well. “Oliver Geniuses is also against this allegiance given that, we are the victims of the violation of the SOHOR pillar.”
The St. Ann Marie girls were silent.
“Mr. Alastair?” Hans called, trying to plead with him.
“It is true, Hans. We find no profit in this allegiance and it will be against the memory of our member if we keep it.” Alastair told him.
“Mr. Alastair we will deal with that, there is no need to break this union.” Sylvester said.
“There is.” Alastair rejected.
The Hamerton girls of Manchester just shook their heads with impatience.
“Gentlemen, please?” Ivan called. “May we please retire to our temporary homes, we will take care of informing your schools that, Hamerton has been withdrawn from SOHOR and they can pick you at any time from now.”
“You’re throwing us out?” the Riktig måte leader asked.
“Wait till Archibald hears about this!” The leader of Hamerton School in Madrid shouted from the back seats.
Tension inside the room grew as everyone begun arguing about the double-decade old allegiance break up.
Natalie gulped. She never stopped to think about what Archibald would say after hearing what she just did. She knew that Archibald was equally as bad as the rest of the SOHOR were.
“Boys, boys, quite.”
All eyes in the room turned to the center of the crowd from where the sound came from.
A brunette and the only in the room, rose. She was about eighteen as Natalie imagined. She wore a dark suit and seemed quite confident under her attire. “If Natalie wants to withdraw Hamerton from the allegiance then, so be it.” She said defiantly.  “It’s not like SOHOR is shaken.” She added and turned to Alastair. “My condolences Mister Alastair and if you want to break from the allegiance, it’s alright.” She said and turned to Hans. “Hold yourself together, Hans. You’re better than that.”
Hans cleared his throat and groomed his uniform daintily.
The girl looked at Natalie and took the straight path to the stage and halted a few feet from her. “You’re just as I heard.”
Natalie was silent, not wanting to flinch in front her.
“Brilliant, bold, modest but, stupid.” The girl remarked.
Natalie frowned. “I will not take that from you.”
She chuckled devilishly. “You will rot, Natalie Bradley and I will see to it that you do.”
Natalie fumed with furry.
Ivan, who had already approached the two, took Natalie’s side. “May I remind you that, you are talking to the President.” He said.
The girl glanced at him and nodded to whatever she understood. “It’s alright.” She said and turned back to the HOR who were still watching. “Let us leave with our pride ladies and gentlemen.”

Most of them nodded in agreement and made their way out of the conference hall.

HAMERTON 2 Chapter 3- episode 2

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.
Hallo new viewers and Happy and Peaceful elections Tanzania!

Previously on Hamerton; Natalie is caught off guard by the news that the House Of Representatives are visiting their school and she reproaches Ivan for not telling her about it. Natalie, Ingrid and Ivan are seemingly in panic by what the HOR visit entail.
She has summoned her Vice and Minister of Dorm affairs.
Paula, the St. Ann Marie girl who had grudges against Natalie, was arrested for Ashleigh's murder. Paula had originally intended to harm Natalie.

Continue;

Natalie walked behind her desk and sat on her chair. She pulled a drawer of the desk and exposed the original President's badge, on top of a couple of papers. She had moved it to that side of her desk, after going through a heavy interrogation in Archibald’s office. He reprimanded her for losing the badge and gave her several warnings. Now that, she was in tension, she felt the need to keep it even closer.
She exchanged the bronze inscripted President’s badge on her coat with the gold inscripted badge in the drawer.
“I will keep you here from now on.” she vainly told the original badge that was now on her coat pocket.
Trevor had promised to teach her how it worked to save the school. With the HOR arriving, it was obvious that their D-Day was approaching.
“Our days are numbered.” She reminded herself.
Her door sounded knocking and she called for her guests to get in.
Sylvester, her vice President and also the monitor of the senior S class walked in.
Yes, Natalie had managed to join the two classes through a coalition government.
Sylvester was accompanied by Robert Geiger who was a member of the most insignificant class label in Hamerton, Class R. Robert was the Minister of Dorm Affairs of Hamerton, who largely coordinated with the school administration.
“Good afternoon Miss President.” Sylvester greeted first.
“Good afternoon miss?” Robert added.
“Good afternoon. Please? Have a seat.” She said, waving to the wooden chairs in front of her desk.
They thanked and walked forward to occupy the seats.
“Sylvester, I think that you are well informed that Hamerton is receiving the auspicious visit of the House of Representatives.”
“Yes. I was going to let you know but,” Sylvester agreed and begun defending himself.
“There is no use hovering about that.” Natalie cut him short. “I just want you to tell me the schools which are visiting us and whatever agenda they are bringing.”
“Okay amh,” Sylvester said and excused himself to take out a notepad from his coat pocket.
Natalie also found a loose paper and pen on her desk, useful. “Go on.”
“Okay. There is Riktig Måte High school from Oslo, Norway. Oliver Geniuses institute, Scotland. Amh…” he paused having second thoughts about continuing.
“Spit it out, Sylvester. I already know.” Natalie said, trying to wear him off of his worries.
Sylvester nodded. “St. Ann Maurien from France. And,”
“Who is the leader of the delegate from France?” She asked, just to confirm Ivan’s words.
Sylvester glanced at her fearfully. “Paula Moure.”
Natalie sighed, looking away. “I don’t believe this.” She said.
“Miss President, she will not be able to harm you because security has improved in Hamerton.” Sylvester tried to comfort her.
She glanced at him. Though she tried to, she could not help but, get worried. The name Paula reminded her of how Ashleigh died awfully during the inter-school competitions in Berlin.
Remembering the white and stone dead body of Ashleigh, lying on a pool of blood, at the landing of their duplex home staircase, Natalie rose in anger. “I will talk to Madam Sue, I will call off the HOR meeting in Hamerton. Barely a year has gone by since we hosted the last meeting. Isn't it a turn of another school?” She argued desperately.
“It’s already late Miss President. I and your secretary were also battling to reschedule the meeting or perhaps, cancel it but, we could not. The HOR argument for not altering the venue of the meeting is that, Hamerton has a new governance which must be inaugurated in the HOR system.”
“You mean SOHOR?” Natalie asked, remembering the clause from one of the constitution books of governing Hamerton.
“Yes.” Sylvester agreed.
Natalie was silent.
“Miss President you are aware that the government of Hamerton is practically nullified without being recognized by SOHOR.” Sylvester reminded.
Natalie sighed and sat back. “Can’t we ban some individuals?” she asked. “Paula perhaps?”
“You do have power of the President.” Robert contributed for the first time after a while.
Natalie glanced at him and remain quiet, thinking of various possibilities.
“We can’t do anything yet. Until they arrive.” Sylvester said.
Natalie looked at him then, having made a decision, turned back to Robert. “Robert. What is the status of the dorms?”
“There are few rooms left, miss.”
“Please get me the accurate statistics and, immediately see if the rooms’ conditions are welcoming.” She ordered.
Robert nodded and rose. “With your permission.” He said and left.
She turned back to Sylvester. “Sylvester. I want to change the constitution.”
Sylvester furrowed his eyebrows in puzzlement. “What?”
“You said it. I am the President. I want to change the constitution. I want to remove Hamerton from the System of Organization of The House Of Representatives.”
“Miss Natalie, you know that if you do that, then Hamerton will not be able to enjoy the full benefits of the SOHOR. Including the; international competitions, festivals or… exchange group programs.”
“I do understand that, Sylvester but, I think that it is about time that Hamerton forms a new allegiance.”
“Miss President, Riktig Måte, Oliver Geniuses, Neumann Oberschule, St. Ann Maurien, Green Acres and the rest, are one of the top schools in Europe and America. If we withdraw from their organization, our school will go down drastically. The rank that Hamerton has earned and the position that the former President, Trevor Tommy managed to give it, will all come to nothing.” He recounted a bit angrily. “Please, do not make a decision that will cost Hamerton everything.”
Natalie took a few seconds to take his opinion into consideration but, she remained unpersuaded. The HOR were after all, the people who were going to destroy their school. If she could do something to keep them far away from Hamerton, then she would.
“Sylvester. If you give me some time and if we both cooperate then we can find other collaborators who are more powerful and prominent than the SOHOR member schools.” She said and gaining ideas, added. “I can come up with allies from America. Yes. I know a lot of schools starting from my former school in New York City. The Hamerton community will like to be part of a coordination with institutions from America.” She said and then added unprofessionally, “Everybody loves going to America.”
He shook his head. “It’s not possible. We can’t break the connection.”
Natalie leaned forward with her hands on the table. “We will.”
He frowned. “What will we tell the press? And Hamerton? How will they react?” he asked indignantly. “Miss Natalie, we can’t risk our necks to the public. They will lynch us.”
“Nobody is going to lynch anybody, Sylvester. Not if they know what the new allegiance will provide.” She assured him, straightening her back.
“Do you know the cost of detaching from SOHOR?”
“Tell me?”
“Everything.”
Natalie was silent. She did not understand the magnitude of his sentence and that was what made her worry.
“Miss Natalie, think about this.” He said. “I understand your fear of Miss Moure but, you can deal with her separately from the rest of the allegiance. Do not do anything that you will regret. I will tell you again, breaking the connection will cost Hamerton everything.”
She drew in a deep sigh and remained silent.
He rose. “Please allow me to prepare your speech of welcoming them.”
“Ivan is already working on that.” she replied, looking away.
“Okay.” He said and turned to leave.
“Wait?” She called.
He turned back to her. “Yes Miss President?”
“Doesn't the school Board of Directors have any say in this?”
“Hardly. The full power of governance is vested on you and the rest of the association.”
She nodded somberly and he left.

HAMERTON 2 SOHOT/SOHOR??

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.
Hallo new viewers and Happy and Peaceful elections Tanzania!

Previously on Hamerton. Caitlin thinks about Natalie and wants to contact her. She receives an email from her informant who tells her that Natalie and Ivan are going out and that Natalie is a bad person. Caitlin is very affected by the mail.

Continue;

Chapter Three: SOHOT/ SOHOR??
“Natalie? Natalie?” Ivan called, running to Natalie in the heavily crowded hallway.
Natalie, who was nearing the staircase at the end of the hallway, turned around and raised her eyebrows, halting to wait for him.
Ivan increased pace toward her.
Just as the distance narrowed between them, Natalie’s attention was caught by a couple of reporters, led by Cheryl.
She gave Ivan her back and faced the school journalists.
“Miss President. The students have been awaiting your statement on the ball that is to take place tomorrow, in favor of the House Of Representatives, who are due to arrive at 2:00pm this afternoon. Will you tell the media and the Hamerton society who are watching you live on HTV, how you plan to welcome the HOR and what you have instored for them on tomorrow’s ball?” Cheryl asked quickly.
Natalie pulled a screwed face. “The ball is in honor of_”
She begun and was interrupted by Ivan who bumped into them. “Yes, yes.” He said quickly and turned to Natalie who offered him a startled expression. “The President is very much aware of the arrival of the House of Representatives.” He added and turned to the press. “The ball will be grand, most assuredly and our guests will have the most pleasant welcome.”
Cheryl nodded at him.
“There have been concerns that, due to the enormous February intake, the dorm buildings of Hamerton cannot accommodate the visitors. As the President, do you authorize the use of the Leaders’ quarters for the 50 HOR arriving guests?” Another reporter, with a tape recorder, asked Natalie.
Natalie was still lost. She was hardly aware of the House of Representatives’ arrival much less the scarcity of their places to stay.
Ivan took charge again. “We are still discussing that in the administration panel and we hope to come with the conclusion before our guests arrive.”
Natalie nodded, looking boldly at the reporters.
“Can you share the agenda that brings the HOR to Hamerton?” Cheryl added.
“No, no. It is… a surprise! But, it will be good for Hamerton.” Ivan answered and taking Natalie’s hand said, “Now, if you will excuse us. The President cannot answer any questions now. We will call for a press conference later and then we will be able to answer all your questions.”
With a little struggle, Ivan was able to get Natalie out of the media and they walked hastily across the hallway to a staircase on the opposite side.
“What were they talking about?” she asked Ivan, as they neared the first floor of the building.
“What I was about to tell you. The HOR are arriving later at two and you have to prepare for that.”
“How come I am not informed about this? And that there is scarcity of their accommodation… Ivan? Are they coming on short notice?”
“Not exactly. I was with the Vice President last Friday. We thought that we could handle everything.”
Natalie paused just when they were outside her office door. She frowned at him. “You thought that you could handle everything without telling me? Ivan? I needed to know that. I could get ridiculed by the public if I am ignorant of big events happening in school such as the hosting of the HOR.”
He was silent, seeming a bit restless.
She narrowed her eyes. “Ivan. Why did you keep that from me? What are you hiding?”
Ivan put his hand around her and reached for the door knob. She drew back a few steps and he opened the door. “Please?” he asked, waving inside.
She shook her head in disappointment and walked in.
She trod to her desk and leaned on it, waiting for his explanation with her hands crossed below her breasts. “So, tell me.”

Meanwhile, Ingrid was busy placing posters on the school board for the next day’s ball.
She put her hand above her eyebrows, squinting her eyes below the noon sun, to satisfy the organization of the posters.
Appeased, she turned to Carlito who held the posters and glue for her. “We are done.” She announced.
“Okay. Where next?” Carlito asked.
Ingrid looked around the vast green school compound that was also sparsely occupied with students moving here in there. She noticed the evergreen oaks and saw them as spots for placing the posters. “There.”
Carlito nodded and started off while she was held up by a phone, buzzing in her skirt pocket.
She took it out and became alerted after reading the name.
She received it. “Hallow?”
“We have a problem.” A male’s voice greeted.

“What!” Natalie exclaimed, after Ivan’s statement.
She parted her hands and straightened herself.
“Do you see why me and Sylvester decided to hide this from you?” Ivan asked.
“Ivan. This should have been the more reason for you to let me know. So that I could prepare myself. So that I could know what to expect.” She said, pacing to and fro in front of her desk.
“Look at how it is getting to you?” he said, feeling sorry for her.
She paused and turned to him. “I don’t understand. How could_”
The door burst open and the two turned to the front to welcome Ingrid who was panting and seemingly anxious. “Natalie? Did you hear?”
“Yes. And, it seems that everybody did except me.” Natalie said eyeing Ivan reproachfully.
“What are we going to do, Natalie?” Ingrid asked and lowered her voice to add, “Your life is in danger.”
Natalie sighed deeply. “I don’t know now. I… don’t know.” She said somberly.
“We should call Trevor.” Ingrid suggested.
“No. Ingrid. If we try to reach him then his father will realize that we are still communicating. We can’t afford that.” Natalie disagreed. “I don’t want to lose him forever, no.”
“Who helped you the last time?” Ivan asked after a brief moment of contemplating in silence.
“Corny Howls but, I don’t know if…” Natalie begun and sighed with devastation.
“Corny?” Ingrid repeated. “I will see then.”  She said and left.
“Natalie,” Ivan begun trying to approach her.
She drew back, waving her hands in defense. “Please don’t. Just, get my speech ready for the conference you told the media about and send for my vice and the Minister of Dorm Affairs.”

Ivan nodded reluctantly and left.

Who are they talking about and how is he/she a threat to Natalie? Stay tuned to find out!

HAMERTON 2 Chapter 1- episode 8

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.

Previously on Hamerton; Natalie and Ingrid  go to the meeting place to see Trevor but, his guard appears and let Natalie talk to Trevor. He tells her how much he loves her and warns her about the murderer of Nicky who automatically, succeeds her ran in SOHOT.
Steven asked Ingrid to talk to her in private after receiving his uncle's call on Trevor's condition. In a lonely classroom they break each others secrets that they are part of SOHOT and Ingrid, did not actually love Steven.

What happened on Hamerton;

Nine months ago
Ingrid stayed silent after Steven’s statement. She did not agree with him either. “Trevor loves Natalie.” She told him.
He laughed cynically. “Ingrid. You honestly don’t believe that.”
“I do.” She said.
“Oh and why’s that?”
“Because, he has taken her places.”
“Anyone can do that-”
“Steven. Why are we even arguing about Trevor’s feelings? I need you to tell me where you have kept him so that we can rescue him.”
“That is not going to be easy.”
She furrowed her eyebrows in questioning. “Why?”
He drew closer to her who leaned with her back on a table inside the empty classroom. His voice was lowered when he said, “Nicky has given you one last chance.”
She stared at him with a shocked expression on her face.
“Yes.” He said, confirming her silent speculations. “A chance to save both my life and yours.”
She frowned. “I will not do anything for that cruel woman.”
“You will unless you want to end up like Erin and Morningstar. She promises to take Trevor with you.”
She gulped. She could not risk Trevor’s life. Her eyes begun tingling with tears as she asked. “What does she want? She can’t harm Trevor. You wouldn't let him.”
“I value your lives and that’s why I’m asking you to do whatever Nicky wants.”
Ingrid drew a deep sigh, breaking into a cry. “Oh my God. She can’t harm Trevor. Anybody, anybody but, him.”
He was silent, watching her as she shed tears for her old boyfriend. She sounded like she did not care that his life was also on the line.
“I will do anything. Anything, if she doesn't hurt Trevor, I promise.” She swore.
“Okay.” He said and told her. “There’s an encrypted message that Nicky discovered in Erin’s stash. Nicky said that it leads to your dorm bathroom or something… I don’t recall. What you have to do is to take Natalie with you in pursuing this task and once you are there, she expects that Natalie will reveal the truth behind the message.”
“What will Nicky do to Natalie?” Ingrid asked quickly.
“I don’t know.” Steven said. “But, your queue is as simple as that; take Natalie along.”
“What if he hurts her?”
“Well, there is a way to preserve all of us,” he said and drawing even closer, whispered into her ear. “You can kill Nicky and end this mess once and for all.”
She gasped just realizing then that he also placed a gun on her lap.
She held it and told him when he drew back, “I can’t. I will not be a murderer. Not for Hamerton not for anyone.”
“I am only telling you not to hesitate to use it, when things get dicey up there.”
“But, I can’t.” she cried. “Killing her will mean me replacing her rank in the SOHOT as leader. I don’t want that!”
“Not unless someone from SOHOT has evidence that you did it.” He said and paused, contemplating on another solution. He watched her, she was fidgeting and seemingly scared. He sighed, feeling sorry for her.
“Steven, I can’t. But, I don’t want Nicky to harm Natalie or you or Trevor. What am I going to do?”
He took in a deep breath, having come up with a new resolution. “Okay. I hope that, if you must kill Nicky, you will get Natalie on not telling anyone. I on one hand, will stay out of sight of Hamerton and the rest of you so that the HOR will think that I killed Nicky and succeeded her in the rank in SOHOT.”
Her mouth parted in shock at this. She roughly imagined what he meant. “Steven. You will have to sacrifice your whole life for me.”
He took her hands. “I will do anything to keep you safe. My life doesn't matter.” He paused, looking intently at her. “I love you.”
She parted her hands at this and threw them around him, embracing him strongly. “Steven, does it have to be this way? Do you have to go?” she cried.
“I know that you will have to kill her and I can’t afford the HOR getting on your trail. They are very dangerous.”
She drew back and kissed him exuberantly, violently caressing his face and neck. “You are so good.” She said when she drew back. “I am going to miss you a lot. I don’t know what I’ll do with you gone.”
He held her face. “Be strong.” He said, looking deeply in her eyes. “Maybe one day we will see each other again.”
She hugged him again, sobbing on his back. The thought of being far and apart from him, made her heart shutter. She did not know just how she could go through the rest of her days in Hamerton without him. Erin just died and Trevor was close to his death. She needed him. So much. “Please don’t go…” she cried.
He sighed. “I have to.” He said and drew her back. “Ingrid. Listen to me, I will take care that Trevor gets medical attention soon. You have to hurry and get Natalie to the dormitory.” He said and took the gun that she had released on the table. “Use this. I will take care of everything else.”
She nodded somberly, taking it then kissed him again. “I will see you again.” She told him. “I promise I will.”
“And I will see you again.” He agreed and released her. “Go.”
