HAMERTON 2 Chapter 4 episode 8

HAMERTON 2
Thank you God for this opportunity.

Hamerton. A large school offering the finest Education to the students of the state and overseas. Natalie joins this school arriving from Brooklyn and she has grief over her lost friends who were murdered in Hamerton. She teams up with Ingrid and their fellow seniors against the House of Representatives to prevent a bomb blast that could cause a large massacre.
Happy weekend viewers!

previously on Hamerton; Nicky hacks the Hamerton power system with Gale's help and together, they cut the electricity supply in Hamerton.
Natalie is interrogated by Officer bard who hardly accepts her statement.
Nicky and Gale manage to get Maggie out of the room where she is locked in and they end up in Hamerton's chief building vestibule only to embrace a large crowd of the students struggling to leave the dark hall.
The three meet Ingrid and Ivan and it happens that, Ivan is Maggie's younger brother.

“Hallow?” A man called to a telephone receiver after picking it up.
“Good evening. This is LPF reception desk. Can we speak to Sir Howls?” a lady’s voice sounded.
The man placed the receiver on another hand and with first, fetched a paper and a pencil from his desk. “Officer Howls is not in. But, can you leave a message? Is there a case or something?”
“There is one girl here named Natalie Bradley. She says that, she is a friend to Maggreth Howls’ brother. Apparently, the brother is sick and he asked this girl with us, to come to London to look for Officer Howls so that, he can reach his sister, I mean, Mrs. Howls.”
The man scribbled a bit. “Okay. I get that. Where is the girl now?”
“She is here in the central station.”
“Okay. Let me reach Officer Howls and send you feedback.”
“Thank you.”
“Thank you.” the man said and hang up.
He rose with the paper from his desk and started out of his small cozy office.
He opened the exit door and took an elevator of glass cubicle that, raised him many floors up the building.
Crossing the heights, the man passed a bunch of other floors with lots of computers and people working here and there wearing black outfits.
He tapped his foot, waiting anxiously to reach the ground floor.
When the elevator opened, he emerged into a kitchen of a local restaurant. There were a few people there, wearing aprons and white huts.
“Hello Fin?” the man greeted the chef who was busy preparing beef stew.
“Hey. What’s up?” the young chef replied without giving the man a glance.
“Is Sir Howls in?”
“Yeah. He has been around all evening with Mr. Tommy. Anything new?”
“Yes. I’ll just get to him.”
“Okay.” The chef said and the man walked out.

“Hamerton? How?” Maggreth asked after Nicky disclosed to her where they were.
“I’ll tell you in the van, Maggie. Now, we have no time. If the power goes back, worse could happen.” Nicky replied.
“So, you were the one who cut the power?” Ingrid asked.
“What has my sister been doing here? And why are you wearing that?” Ivan asked seemingly very upset.
“She is your sister?” Ingrid asked him.
“Guys. Just know that, we came here to save Maggie. These were Corny’s orders. Now, you will do well if you let us go. Or, follow us in the van and we can talk. The bad guys are still out there.” Nicky said impatiently.
“Bad guys?” Ivan repeated.
“Let’s go to your van.” Ingrid said, hardening her look on Nicky.
Nicky sighed with relief. “Great. Thank you. Now, please, follow my lead.”
Ivan took her sister’s hand and walked together with Ingrid, behind Nicky and Gale.
They came out of the school compound through the front gate, when Nicky made the guards sleep with a paralyzing gas.
Gale opened the back door of the van for them and they all got in while he, took a seat behind the wheels.
“Who’s he?” Ingrid asked Nicky, after they all sat in the van facing each other.
Ivan sat with his sister on one side and Ingrid sat with Nicky, opposite them.
“My boyfriend but, don’t tell Howls about him.” Nicky replied.
“It’s okay. Your secret is safe with me.”
Nicky smiled a little.
“So, tell us what happened.” Ivan suggested.
Nicky glanced at him. “And are you her guy?”
“I’m her brother.” Ivan retorted, waving his head toward Maggie. “So, what happened? Why did you have to save her?”
“I was kidnapped.” Maggie answered.
“What!” Ivan exclaimed. “When did that happen? Why wasn’t I told?” he asked.
“It doesn’t matter now Ivan. I’m already safe.” Maggie told him and turned to Nicky. “You will take me back to Howls, right?”
“Yes.” Nicky affirmed just when Gale started the car.
“Where to now?” he called from the driver’s seat.
“Wait. We still have school.” Ingrid reminded.
“It’s weekend Ingrid.” Nicky told her and replied to Gale. “London.”
“Okay.” Gale replied. “Just tell me where the road map to your famous city is.”
“In the glove compartment.” Nicky replied and turned back to the rest. “You don’t mind spending the night on the road, do you?”
“I just want answers.” Ivan confessed.
Nicky nodded to him.
“Tell me how you are alive.” Ingrid added. “I thought I killed you.”
“Did you want to kill me?” Nicky asked with a frown on her face.
“No. Steve told me that, it was necessary. You were going to kill Natalie.”
“I faked shooting her to scare her and you. Steve told me to do anything possible to show that, I provoked you to kill me.”
Ingrid furrowed her eyebrows. “He told you that?”
“Yes. And he added that, you’ll shoot me in the arm so that, I wouldn’t really die and he would come to rescue me afterward.”
“He never told me that. In fact, he never showed that, he was part of the unit.”
“No? But, he has been working with the unit. He told me to break Erin’s toilet and ‘appear’ when you and Natalie would come for Erin’s encrypted message in Erin’s favorite bathroom.”
Ingrid was silent at that. “I’m confused. Steven never told me any of that. I thought that, I really killed you.”
“So, how come you shot my shoulder?” Nicky asked.
“To make you get rid of the gun.” Ingrid replied and her eyes showed deep distress. “You were going to kill Natalie and she was so innocent. Nicky, when I heard later that, you died, I never had peace in my heart. We never got along that much but, I never meant to harm you.”
“Wait a minute, guys.” Ivan, who was following the story for the whole while, interrupted. “Who is this Steven?”
“The guy who took my life.” Nicky replied dreadfully. She now blamed Steven for making her have a fake identity and a life that, was not hers. She turned back to Ingrid. “Tell me the honest truth Ingrid, Steven did not tell you Mr. Tommy’s plans to get me out of the picture and Natalie seeing it all?”
“I swear to you. I don’t know what you are talking about. I personally haven’t heard from Mr. Tommy or Bill since the day that I came to Hamerton.”
“And Howls?” Nicky asked desperately.
“No. I didn’t even know that, Maggie was kidnapped and held in our school.” Ingrid said honestly.
Nicky drew a deep sigh and remained silent, digesting the conundrum.
“Do you remember who saved your life?” Ivan asked, to help Nicky with her confused state.
“No but, I remember meeting Howls in a hospital and he told me that, the whole of Hamerton thought I was dead. He asked me how but, I saved myself from the explanation thinking that, he knew everything. I asked him if I could start a new life. I also wanted to be free of the responsibilities that involved Trevor.” Nicky replied and sighed again. “I never thought that, Steven lied to me.” She said and turned to Ingrid. “If Steven lied about the unit then he also lied about taking Trevor to a referral hospital in London. Tell me what happened to Trevor.”
“He is alive and well.” Maggie informed with a warm smile on her face. “We were studying together.”
Nicky smiled. “Thank you.”
“So, who is Steven?” Ivan asked for all.
“Good question, Ivan.” Ingrid replied.

**

“Excuse me, sir?” the man came to Howls and Trevor at their dining table and greeted.
Howls turned to him with a smile on his face. “Yes, Damian?” he asked and added quickly. “By the way, you can release the Unit from their duties. My wife is safe now.”
The man’s face lit up. “Oh. That is excellent news sir.”
“Yes. I am very happy. Amh. Turn on my receiver. I want to talk to Maggie.”
“Okay sir. Amh. I diverted the calls from your office, like you asked and directed them to be received from the Unit quarters.” Damian begun before Corny interrupted him.
“That is no longer necessary Damian. Please let the office have access to them as usual. Is officer Millies downstairs?”
“Yes sir.” Damian replied.
“Please call her up here.”
Trevor was following the conversation closely. He noticed that, Damian had news related to the call for Corny’s office. “Did you have anything from Howls’ office?”
Damian turned to him. “Yes sir.”
“What’s that?” Corny asked. For a while, only his wife’s news, occupied his mind.
“There was a call from the Central station.” Damian said to him and turned to Trevor. “Miss Natalie Bradley is there. She says that, her friend and Mrs. Howls’ brother, is ill and that she came to London, to find you and get to Mrs. Howls.”
At that news, Trevor immediately rose from his seat. “Natalie!” he exclaimed. “She came to London to look for me. That, story of Ivan must be her excuse to get to you and consequently, me.” He said in realization.
“Calm down, Trevor.” Corny asked him.
“No, Howls. It’s late. She doesn’t know anyone in London. She’s also in a police station, she could get nervous, scared. I have to get to her!” Trevor insisted.
Corny turned to Damian. “Thank you for the news. Amh, take care of informing Millies that, my wife is alright.”
Damian nodded and asked. “Shall you both go to the station, sir?”
“Yes.” Corny replied, pushing his chair and rising as well.
“You have to get an escort. They already made an attempt on your wife, you can’t go anywhere now without an escort.” Damian advised.
“Damian, I am a cop.”
“Maybe, but, he isn't.” Damian said, throwing a quick glance at Trevor.
“I don’t want to take long to pick her up, Howls.” Trevor told him.
“Don’t worry, you will find the convoy out in just a second.” Damian promised.
“Damian, this is not any official visit to the central police station.” Corny warned him. “I don’t want any publicity.”
“Okay.” Damian agreed. “But, you will take the escort.”

“Do I have a choice?”

HMAERTON 2 Chapter 4 episode 6

Happy weekend viewers!

previously on Hamerton, Henry got into contact with Corny Howls who asked him, to recover a video tape that must have recorded Maggie's pleas before Henry walked into his room.
Through, distracting, Bill, he learns that,  Mr. Tommy is planning on engaging his son with Caitlin Brooks who has also become, a daughter of a very successful miner in a country within Africa.
He recovers the tape.

please continue;

“Ivan? Ivan?” Ingrid called to him who stood behind a noisy table, pulling a seat to join a couple of guys for supper.
Ivan turned his head around and caught a glance of Ingrid, who struggled her way through the heavily flocked dining hall.
He raised his eyebrows, staring at her.
“Excuse me.” Ingrid said to a guy from an S class and he gave way for her to reach Ivan.
“Yes?” Ivan greeted, with his supper in his hands. “What’s up?”
“Have you heard from Natalie?” she asked.
He shook his head. “No.” he replied. “Where is she? You guys are in the same class, right?”
“Yes but,” Ingrid replied and started looking around. Worry etched from her face.
“What’s wrong? Where is Natalie?” Ivan asked, beginning to panic.
Just then, a loud voice filled the hall, as if a heavy object was being moved in the floors above them.
As the students gasped and turned their heads around in fright, the dining hall lights blinked twice and went off.
Ingrid shrieked like more other girls in the hall.
She jumped on her feet and got in the hold of Ivan, who also relinquished his meal to the floor.
“What’s that?” Ingrid asked anxiously.
“Aaw.” Ivan sighed. “I spilled my food.”
Ingrid frowned at him. “Is that all that matters to you? What about that noise and what I told you?”
Ivan released her. “Clearly the power went off.” He explained, raising his voice when the hall grew louder with chattering.
“And Natalie? Where could she have gone?” she asked.
“Is she not in the dormitory or the leaders’ quarters?”
“No. I've looked for her everywhere.”
“We have to find her then.”
Ingrid took a moment, vainly darting her gaze around the crowded hall. “It’s so dark. The emergency generator would have turned on by now.”
“Maybe it was the one that overloaded or something. That noise was louder than a transformer blast.”
“Do you think that, the chief building is going down?”
“If it was then, we wouldn't be talking this way.”
Ingrid gulped.
They would be dead.

“Everybody! Clear the hall!” a call came from within the hall.

Ingrid took Ivan’s hand. “Ivan. Please? I’m scared. What was that?”
He took firm hold of her hand. “It’s okay. We’ll find out soon enough.”

“Everybody! Clear the hall!” the boy’s shout came again.

Ivan initiated movement forward, joining a disordered procession to the hall’s exit.

“London Palladium.” Natalie read, staring at a banner of an arts theater.
People formed a long queue outside the entrance of the theater, waiting to get inside.
A red double decker bus passed by the road and horned, gaining Natalie’s attention.
She realized then that, time had gone and she needed to stop ‘sightseeing’ and get a place to sleep.
Finding Trevor was her main goal but, she did not want to miss the chance to wander around the streets of London.
Now, how on earth am I ever going to find Trevor? She thought. He said before that, he was studying in London. Is it Oxford?
She cursed herself for knowing so little about England. If she was coming to London, she should have at least, researched on schools and colleges there.
She resumed her walk, looking around for an inn or a motel. She would find these almost everywhere in Brooklyn.
“Is it just me or, this place is too sophisticated to have small inns?” Natalie asked herself.
She continued walking, feeling her legs grow tired.
As she was about to cross the road to the other side where a hotel was, a police car horned in front of her.
She sighed, and waited for it to pass.
If only, Corny Howls rode this car. She thought and paused.
“Of course!” She snapped. She could get to a police station and ask them to find Corny Howls!
Corny Howls, according to Henry, was a very famous police official.
Those people could know him!
She turned to the direction where the police car drove to and scurried on a pedestrian path to a corner which also led her out of the highway.
She drew a huge smile when she came to a building with a lot of police cars parked outside it.
She grinned and approached the entrance, crossing paths with some London policemen, maneuvering a delinquent from the car to the station.
Oh. Poor guy.  She thought, halting below the portico of the building, watching the event.
She then turned to the front glass doors with the emblem of the Police Force, walked inside and strolled to the reception desk.
There was a black lady officer behind the desk.
“Hello.” Natalie greeted. “Good evening?”
“Good evening.” The officer replied, opening a file in front of her. “What is your name? Do you have a complaint or, have you lost someone?”
“Amh. I’m Natalie Bradley.” Natalie introduced herself, first.
The officer noted down. “Okay Natalie, how can we help you?”
She took in a deep breath before replying. “I am looking for an officer.” She said and the lady raised an inquisitive eyebrow. Natalie went on. “His name is Corny Howls. I urgently need to speak to him.”
The officer grunted. “Corny Howls.” She repeated. “Does he work here? Are you also related?”
“No. I don’t know where he works. But, he’s a much known officer. His name is Corny Howls.”
The lady officer crossed her face in queer. She bent down to reach a book from a drawer in the desk and placed it on top of it. She opened it and traced her finger on it. “There is no one here by the name of Corny Howls.” she told Natalie.
Natalie sighed. “Perhaps but, can’t you help me to get to him?”
The officer narrowed her eyes, looking intently at Natalie.
Natalie popped her eyes in response. “Mmh?” she sounded.
The officer twisted her head to the other side of lobby and signaled to another police officer to come to the desk.
Natalie turned to him and greeted. He was young man with brown hair and wearing glasses.
“Hallow miss.” He replied and turned to the receptionist. “Yes, Hellen?”
“This girl here, is looking for a police officer named Corny Howls. He does not work here but, she claims that, he is a very famous officer.” The policewoman explained.
“Corny Howls?” the man rephrased. “Yeah. I’ve heard of him. In fact, he is my role model.”
“Great! So, do you know how I can reach him?” Natalie asked him with excitement.
The man turned to her. “No but, what would you want with such a high official as him?”
“I have to talk to him. Urgently.” Natalie said desperately. She was upset that, the police officers did not seem to understand her.
“Are you related?” the policeman asked.
“I came all the way from Hamerton to find him. I don’t know anyone in London. Please? Help me.” She begged.
“Hamerton as in…” the receptionist begun asking.
“That rich school many miles from here.” The policeman helped.
The receptionist nodded to that, and turned to Natalie. “Miss Natalie, the only way that we can help you to reach this police officer, is if you would tell us, what need you have with him.”
“Its private.” Natalie replied quickly, getting impatient.
“I’ll leave you Hellen.” The policeman said to the receptionist officer,
“No, Bard. Wait.”Hellen stopped him.
“Yes?” he asked.
Hellen turned to Natalie. “Please follow Officer Bard. He will take your statement.”
Natalie folded her face in worry. “Statement? What for?”
“It’s the way that we could help you.” Hellen replied.
Natalie was silent but, clearly she was not sure that she could believe them.
The policeman grimaced at Hellen, then turned to Natalie. “Okay. This way please.” He said, waving to a corridor that exited the lobby to the inner parts of the station.
“Ah?” Natalie asked.
“You’re not under arrest miss.” The man explained. “You’re just under police investigation.”
Natalie was worried, following him reluctantly.

***

“Please somebody, help me?”
Maggreth sounded over Howls’ phone, when Henry made him hear the security video of his room.
Trevor was with Corny Howls, sitting across the table with him, in their favorite restaurant.
Corny drew a deep sigh, hearing his wife plead for assistance.
“She wasn't screaming Howls.” Henry sounded later over the phone.
Corny set it on a loud speaker so that, Trevor could also hear it.
“Yes. She was calm.” Trevor said, agreeing with Henry’s opinion.
“Maggie is a strong woman.” Corny said. “But, now… how do I know that she is still alive?”
“Don’t give up yet, Howls. I already told you that, I am more than willing to give up myself so, that, you can recover Maggie.” Trevor comforted him.
“Trevor, I don’t want to risk your life.”
“Nobody is going to die guys. The unit will do whatever it takes to make sure that, all of your lives are safe.” Henry said over the phone.
“Thank you, Henry.” Corny said. “I don’t know what I would have done without you guys.”
“We are here for each other, man.” Henry replied. “By the way, Trevor, I would like to talk to you about something.”
Trevor raised her eyebrows, glancing at the phone on the table. “Yes Henry?”
“Which phone are you using?”
“Amh,” Trevor felt his pockets. “I didn't have the time to replace the one I gave you. Would you like to call me?”
“Yeah. But, anyway, your girlfriend was looking for you a two days ago.”
Trevor leaned forward. “Natalie? Is she okay? What did she tell you?”
“She wanted to see you. But, I told her your situation and asked her that, she should remain in Hamerton until you sort things out with regard to Maggie.”
Trevor sighed. “She better doesn't know anything. I don’t want to make her worry.”
“She sounded desperate. It was as if, something bad was happening or had happened in her school.” Henry added.
Trevor darted his gaze around the table in fright. “Oh my God. Howls? Do you think that, SOHOT also stroke in Hamerton.”
“We can’t know for sure but, I’ll make contact.” Howls promised.
“Thank you Howls.” Trevor said earnestly. “If anything has to happen to me, I don’t want Natalie to get hurt.”
“I do not mean to worry you by informing you that, Trevor. In any case, there’s more but, maybe we can talk some other time.” Henry said.
“Why? Is my father coming?” Trevor asked.
“No, no. The radio is going live.” He announced and shouted, “Howls! Howls! It’s Maggie she’s breathing.”
Corny sighed with relief, drawing a broad grin. “Oh. Henry.” He exhaled. “How is she? Does she say anything? Is she okay?” he asked quickly.
“She is alive, that’s what I can tell you. She’s still breathing.” Henry informed them but, in a rush. He was clearly working on something. “I’ll try to determine her exact location.”
“Please do that, Henry.” Corny requested.
“Okay, okay amh…. She is in… wait. What?”
“What? What Henry? Where is my wife???” Corny asked in panic.
Trevor waited silently.
“Hamerton.” Henry announced.
Their mouths dropped open with shock.

HAMERTON Chapter 4 episode 3

Hallow viewers!

“A good mathematician must be able to solve any mathematical equation through any and all of the mathematical ways possible.” Mr. Gram said inside the senior class, class D, in response to Fred’s challenge question.
“Oh.” Fred said, standing at one end of the board and opposite Mr. Gram. He was attempting to solve a calculus equation and ended halfway. “I was used to this method.”
Mr. Gram shook her head with disappointment. “Mr. Fred Fergusson, I just taught you-” he begun reprimanding Fred, before the classroom door was opened.
The whole class turned to the entrance.

A guy from the S class, held the door knob, looking around the room. “Excuse me Mr. Gram, the principal’s secretary is in need of Natalie Bradley.”
Mr. Gram frowned. “Can’t she see Natalie at another time?” he asked.
“I don’t know.” The boy replied bluntly.
Before Mr. Gram snapped at him, Natalie rose from her desk. “May I go and see her sir?”
Mr. Gram sighed. “Okay.”
Natalie thanked him and followed the boy out.

Seated beside Natalie’s empty desk, Ingrid’s mind begun to fill with worry. She wondered what Archibald needed with Natalie.

Mr. Gram’s voice drew the rest of the class’ attention. “Anyone else here, who can solve this equation with my method?”
“Natalie Bradley.” Someone called out from the back of the class.
Mr. Gram was furious. “Can’t you do anything on your own? What will happen if Natalie shifts or something?”
Fred raised her eyebrows. “They are shifting her?”
With Fred’s question, the class begun to murmur.
“What are you all whispering about? I just said that, you have to stand on your own feet. Someday, Natalie will not be around to solve your questions.” Mr. Gram said.
There was were no replies.
Just then, the electric bell rang outside the room, signifying the end of class.
Fred relinquished the chalk on the teacher’s desk. “Times up.”

The rest of the class begun packing their books and moving their seats.
“You have to study a lot for your A-level exams.” Mr. Gram instructed, picking up his Clear bag from his desk. “But, I hope that, before the exams, you will already have your teacher back.”
Fred had taken his camera from his bag and he turned to Mr. Gram with it, capturing him. “Can you tell HTV about, Natalie shifting classes?”
Mr. stretched his hands in front of his face, to evade the camera. “Mr. Fergusson. I will discipline you for this.” He warned.
“But, we are on recess, sir.”
Mr. Gram withdrew his hands, snapping at him. “I am the discipline teacher, I could have you, suspended for shooting me against my will.” He bawled.
Some of the kids who were still in class started laughing.
“Aarrg.” Mr. Gram growled and stormed out.

Natalie and the boy parted when he retired to his own class. She walked to the principal’s office and met the secretary behind her desk.

“Oh Natalie.” The lady said first and shuffled through some files for a printed paper.
“Good evening Miss Ester.” Natalie greeted, watching the secretary’s movements.
“You are lucky that he signed it.” Ms. Ester said, waving the paper to her. She drew it back before Natalie took it. “Wait, I haven’t put in here the reason yet.” She said, fetching a pen from her coat pocket. “Archibald is very strict these days about pupils leaving the school compound. Especially those who, in their records, have no residency or relationship in England.”
“Oh.” Natalie said, with a little worry building up in her.
“So, why are you leaving Hamerton?” Ms. Ester asked, getting ready to note down.
“For medical reasons.” Natalie replied.
“Alright. A check-up maybe?”
“Yeah…” Natalie agreed and darted her gaze inside the room, looking for an excuse. “Eye checkup!” she added excitedly.
“Alright.” Ms. Ester agreed and noted. She then turned back to Natalie. “But, I advise you not to use glasses. Ask them for contact lenses, glasses will not look good on you.”
Natalie nodded with her eyebrows raised.
Ester turned back to the gate-pass. “So, to which clinic will you go to?”
“Amh… I’ve heard of this hospital in London.”
At the city’s name, Ester turned to Natalie with shock on her face. “Natalie? You are going to London? Why?”
Natalie blinked quickly in self-defense. “Eye check-up.”
“Yes but, why London? You will get lost in the city you pretty girl.”
“Amh… I survived New York, I think that I can take this.”
Ester arched an eyebrow. “Mmh. So, you are going sightseeing?”
Natalie laughed at the way Ester put it. “No. For an eye checkup. But, I can’t deny that, I've always longed to be in London. For a longer time than, dropping at Heathrow. You understand, right?”
Ms. Ester nodded. “Yeah. So, how long will you take…‘sightseeing’?”
“Two days.”
“Mh. Where will you sleep?”
“I have my Aunt who is also waiting for me.”
Ms. Ester noted that, down. “Okay.” She said and gave the gate-pass to Natalie.
“Already signed?” Natalie asked, receiving it.
“Yes. There was only the stamp that I had to give after writing your details.” Ester said, assuring her. “Stay safe dear. London is a very big city. Don’t get lost on your way there, okay?”
Natalie nodded, folding the pass. “Right. Thank you.”
Ms. Ester smiled at her. “Welcome. And do consider being our President again.”

Natalie did not reply. She could not lie to Ester but, neither could she tell her the truth. She offered Ester a broad grin and turned around, leaving.

HAMERTON Chapter 4 Special episode

Hallow viewers!

 Many years back
Mr. Tommy walked into the girls’ room unnoticed.
The girls were busy doing their homework, seated behind a desk at the end of the room, opposite a pink canopy bed.
An older boy helped them, guiding the eldest of the two girls, to draw a circle with a protractor.
Mr. Tommy watched them and smiled. The three got along together like true siblings. He wished that, his own children would engage like them.
At the thought of that, Trevor sounded calling in the lobby. “Mommy, mommy, Kenneth doesn't want to give back my tie.”

Just then, the boy in the room turned to the door. “Mr. Tommy.” He reckoned, rising.
Mr. Tommy raised his hand. “It’s okay, Corny. Sit down.”
“Good evening sir?” the girl beside Corny Howls greeted.
“Good evening Nicole.”
“Good evening Mr. Tommy?” The last girl at the desk greeted.
“Good evening, Ingrid.” Mr. Tommy replied and walked into the room, pushing the door closed behind himself.
“Welcome, sir. How can we help you?” Corny said, trying to be of service.
“Thank you, Corny. It is nice of you that you are already helping your sisters with their work.” He said and paused to change the subject. “But, I will need your help with one thing.”
“Sure sir.” Nicole agreed on behalf of all.
Corny rose and gave up his seat to Mr. Tommy, then fetched his own stool from one end of the bedroom.
“Yes sir?” he asked after sitting.
Mr. Tommy took a moment. He seemed uneasy. It was as if there was a heavy burden he was carrying in his shoulders.
“The training that you guys are taking, do you know what it's for?” Mr. Tommy asked, opening a conversation.
“Self-defense?” Ingrid suggested, wondering if that was the right explanation.
“Security.” Nicole said.
“Protecting you, sir?” Corny asked.
Mr. Tommy smiled at him. “You’re almost right Corny. And I like you for your sharp mind.” He turned to the rest. “The training you’re having is for protecting somebody. But, not me, Corny,” he said glancing at Corny Howls. “My youngest son, Trevor.”
The girls looked at each other. Corny was silent, thinking.
“I want you three, as lifelong guards and protectors of Trevor.” Mr. Tommy added. “As the training goes on, you will receive instructions which you have to follow. You will realize then that, each of you will take different paths but, always around my son. I want you to make sure that, my son is safe in my presence or absence just as I had protected you when your parents were killed.”
Nicole sighed deeply and nodded.
Corny nodded as well.
Ingrid asked. “I don’t understand sir. Please don’t mind me asking but, why Trevor?”
Mr. Tommy looked at her. “Him because of his brother and more importantly because of his descent.” He paused to check their expressions and they were all seemingly lost. He went on. “I was not always rich until, I met a woman who had a streak for politics. Trevor’s mother. Her family was always against our marriage, especially because, I already had Kenneth with my first wife, Eloise.
“When me and Monica married, we moved in to this house.” He said, looking around the room. “Of course back then, it was not as big.” He added when, he noticed that they were exaggerating. “Monica motivated me to start the Tommy enterprises. I supported her in her campaigns and she supported me in my businesses. As we grew richer, we also grew enemies.
“However, real trouble begun when Trevor was born. As it is to the knowledge of few, my son Trevor is the sole heir of an authority that is currently led by my wife, Monica. The authority entitles him to a very large amount of wealth.” He paused and the girls’ eyes widened with shock. Corny was cool.
“Now, Monica’s family is battling to harm Trevor. They threatened before and they will be a threat for the rest of my son’s life. I think that, my son’s life is more important than the whole world put together.” Mr. Tommy said and Corny nodded. “So, it is your job from now on, to keep my son safe. I know that, they will hunt him everywhere, in school, at home, wherever. But, for as long as you are alive, I want you to protect him.”
The girls took in deep breaths and nodded.
“Mr. Tommy, thank you first for trusting us.” Corny said on behalf of all. “I swear to make sure that, nothing bad happens to Trevor. Not only because, you asked and you have been so good to us, but, also because, Trevor has taken a big part in my heart.” he said earnestly and chuckled, adding. “He’s like a spoiled little brother.”
Mr. Tommy agreed. “You are right. My son is a bit spoiled.” He sighed. “I just wish that, one day, he will take after you and not be like his rude brother.”
“I love Trevor too.” Nicole confessed. “Like a brother, I mean.”
Ingrid grinned at her. She turned to Mr. Tommy. “Well, sir. Like Howls, I will do whatever it takes to keep Trevor safe.”
“Thank you, Ingrid.”
“Me too, sir.” Nicole said.
“Thank you, Nicole.” Mr. Tommy said and turning to the rest, rose saying. “You will receive instructions on what you must do. Since, we don’t want anyone to know your part in my son’s life, you will find yourselves taking paths you never expected. But, don’t worry. In time, you will find out that there are more of you. And they will join you in your tasks. For my son’s sake, I have agreed to do anything.”
They girls nodded and replied altogether. “Yes sir.”
“Yes sir.” Corny Howls agreed afterward.
Mr. Tommy thanked them again and left.

Outside he met with his twelve year old son, Trevor. “Dad, my tie. I told my mom but, she wouldn't do anything.”
“Trevor, why do you always refer to ‘your mom’? Monica is a parent to both you and your brother.” Mr. Tommy reproved him.
“Well. She is my mom.” Trevor retorted and peeped at the loosely closed door behind his father. “Is Nicky there? I want to see her.”
Mr. Tommy paused for a few seconds. Suddenly, he smiled to himself and nodded. “Yes, she is, son. But, first, let us get you a new tie.”
“But, I like that one that my mom bought for me.”
“Indeed but, whatever that, your brother has got it from you and he won’t return to you. You can’t go to the family celebration of the workers of TE without dressing properly.”
Trevor wagged his head and nodded.
That same night, Monica, Trevor’s mother, got an accident that, took her sanity. Consequently, Mr. Tommy made the truth of her condition and whereabouts, anonymous to the public, for the rest of their lives.

Steven walked into the Parliament office, a small cozy room with some chairs and desks, facing a high seat.
He found Nicky passing through a checklist of incomers to the office.
“Found anything?” he asked.
“No.” she replied, turning to him with dismay on her face.
“I just came from Archibald’s office. He warned me that, there would be something.”
“He must have referred to Morningstar and Erin’s murder.” Nicky said and folded her face, getting upset. “If only I could find out who came to this office between yesterday night and today morning. Maybe, we could find the real killer.”
“Do you think that, he or she would have been dumb enough to sign that, he was taking a weapon from this room?”
“Everyone knows that, you can’t get through without signing at the door.”
“Is the office keeper in? Maybe he took it.”
Nicky sighed. “The office keeper was Morningstar.”
Steven was silent, realizing the context of Nicky’s answer.
“I had you wound Morningstar. Maybe, maybe I shouldn't have.”
“You didn't know that it would come to this.”
“Now, everybody will think that, Trevor did it. He is the only one who, after the dissolution of the Parliament, still has access to this office. He is not around and they will think that, he killed them.”
“Tell me, whose idea was it, to keep a gun in this office?”
Do you remember how Michael Reece died?” she replied with a question.
“In the blast that took Caitlin’s life?” Steven replied with uncertainty.
“No. The blast was used to cover up for his murder. In fact, the blast was not even intended to kill Caitlin. Michael was attacked in this very office and he could not defend himself.”
“God.” Steven whispered. “Who killed him and why?”
“We don’t know that. I joined the sect to find out or at least, to know if the person could also be a threat to Trevor.”
“How was Michael Reece related to Trevor before he died… I mean… killed?”
“He was his friend.”
Steven was silent.
I've spent the whole two years searching and nothing. If this thing has risen up again, I don’t know then what will happen.” Nicky said, worriedly.
“Well. It is a good thing that, Trevor is recuperating in the referral Hospital in London.”
Nicky furrowed her eyebrows. “Didn't you say that, you took him to your uncle’s low standard clinic?”
“I immediately got on the phone with Howls. He coordinated Trevor’s transfer to the hospital in London. Trevor spent hardly an hour in my uncle’s clinic.”
Nicky nodded. “I trust that this is under wraps.” she reckoned.
“Yes. Though, we haven’t brought it up yet, it will be known to many that, I had Trevor admitted to my uncle’s clinic.”
Nicky nodded and sighed deeply.
Steven slipped his hand in his pocket and took out a gun.
Nicky crossed her face in shock. She swallowed. “You killed, Michael and Erin?”
Steven chuckled. “No. How can you think that?” He said drawing out her fears. “This hasn't killed anyone yet but, it is supposed to kill you.”
She furrowed her eyebrows. “What?”
“Yes. Once Trevor is cleared of charges, they are going to come after you. I want Ingrid to use this on you in front of Natalie but, only in self-defense.”
She still seemed distressed. “I don’t understand. You are going to make Ingrid kill me?”
“No. All we want is for Natalie to see it and to cover the murder of Michael and Erin so that, no one will come after you.”
She took a moment, digesting his words. “Wait. That, thing…” she pointed at the gun. “Is it real?”
“Very real.”
She sighed deeply. “She will kill me.”
“No. She is a professional. Just as you are and the rest of us. I promise that, we will be in the rooms, waiting at the right moment to save your life.”
She frowned. “What? Steven, I don’t want to go through with this.” She said, waving her hands in the air and absent mindedly, walked to a desk at one point of the room.
“Nicky. You have to if you are ever going to stay alive.”
She shook her head, sighing. “Oh Steven. I am afraid. What if I really die? What if you guys are late to come and I lose my life? I want to live.”
Steven walked to her and took her hands. “Nicky. Please? Trusting me is your only option right now. Me and the rest of the crew.”
She looked at him for strength but, could not find any. “I can’t Steven. I can’t.”
“Nicky. I promise you. If anything, anything at all happens to you, I swear to you that, I will take my own life. We will rescue you. I swear to you.”
She was silent, wondering if she could trust him. “This is insane.” She said and asked. “Why is it so important for Natalie to see Ingrid…” she sighed again at the very thought. “shooting me?”
“We need a witness.”
She grimaced at him and withdrew her hands from his clutch, walking out on him. “You’re crazy.”
“Nicky. Natalie is the only person who could not tell on Ingrid.”
“What if I just disappear? There will be no need of Ingrid acting to kill me.”
“If you disappear, everyone will know that you are responsible for the deaths in Hamerton.”
She paused for a few seconds. “But, Ingrid. If she… kills me, they will believe that she killed Michael and Erin.”
“Not if the witness doesn't tell.”
Nicky was silent. She had no choice but, to agree with his reasoning.
“If you are, ‘dead’, whoever killed you will be the real murderer to the public. That culprit won’t be you or Ingrid.”
“If Natalie tells?”
“If that happens, she will have no evidence.”
She glanced at the gun in his hand. “And that?”
“Ingrid will take care of it.”
Nicky was silent.
Steven walked to her again. “You will be okay. I promise you.”
“Where will she have to shoot me?”
“On your arm.”
Nicky took in a deep breath and nodded. “At least, I have known Ingrid back in training to have a good aim.”
“I know that, this is hard for you but, it is necessary.”
“Let me guess, these are Mr. Tommy’s instructions.”
“Well. He is aware but, Bill is coordinating everything.”
“And Howls. Does he know?”
Steven nodded.
“So, the postmortem and stuff. How will they do that with me still alive?”
“The Unit will take care of that.”
“Oh. Of course.”
He looked around the room and asked. “So, are you ready?”
She took in a deep breath and nodded. “Okay. What do I have to do now?”
“There’s a blue print of the President’s badge that Erin left in her favorite bathroom in your dorm house. That is what Ingrid and Natalie will go after. I want you to run ahead of them. Break the bathroom sink and just be around till they show up. Do what you must but, give Ingrid a real reason to shoot you.”
“If anything goes wrong?”
“Good luck.” He said, unable to provide anymore hope.
Nicky sighed and thanked him.
She left the room.
