“Ivan? Ivan?” Ingrid called to him who stood behind a noisy table, pulling a seat to join a couple of guys for supper.
Ivan turned his head around and caught a glance of Ingrid, who struggled her way through the heavily flocked dining hall.
He raised his eyebrows, staring at her.
“Excuse me.” Ingrid said to a guy from an S class and he gave way for her to reach Ivan.
“Yes?” Ivan greeted, with his supper in his hands. “What’s up?”
“Have you heard from Natalie?” she asked.
He shook his head. “No.” he replied. “Where is she? You guys are in the same class, right?”
“Yes but,” Ingrid replied and started looking around. Worry etched from her face.
“What’s wrong? Where is Natalie?” Ivan asked, beginning to panic.
Just then, a loud voice filled the hall, as if a heavy object was being moved in the floors above them.
As the students gasped and turned their heads around in fright, the dining hall lights blinked twice and went off.
Ingrid shrieked like more other girls in the hall.
She jumped on her feet and got in the hold of Ivan, who also relinquished his meal to the floor.
“What’s that?” Ingrid asked anxiously.
“Aaw.” Ivan sighed. “I spilled my food.”
Ingrid frowned at him. “Is that all that matters to you? What about that noise and what I told you?”
Ivan released her. “Clearly the power went off.” He explained, raising his voice when the hall grew louder with chattering.
“And Natalie? Where could she have gone?” she asked.
“Is she not in the dormitory or the leaders’ quarters?”
“No. I've looked for her everywhere.”
“We have to find her then.”
Ingrid took a moment, vainly darting her gaze around the crowded hall. “It’s so dark. The emergency generator would have turned on by now.”
“Maybe it was the one that overloaded or something. That noise was louder than a transformer blast.”
“Do you think that, the chief building is going down?”
“If it was then, we wouldn't be talking this way.”
Ingrid gulped.
They would be dead.

“Everybody! Clear the hall!” a call came from within the hall.

Ingrid took Ivan’s hand. “Ivan. Please? I’m scared. What was that?”
He took firm hold of her hand. “It’s okay. We’ll find out soon enough.”

“Everybody! Clear the hall!” the boy’s shout came again.

Ivan initiated movement forward, joining a disordered procession to the hall’s exit.

“London Palladium.” Natalie read, staring at a banner of an arts theater.
People formed a long queue outside the entrance of the theater, waiting to get inside.
A red double decker bus passed by the road and horned, gaining Natalie’s attention.
She realized then that, time had gone and she needed to stop ‘sightseeing’ and get a place to sleep.
Finding Trevor was her main goal but, she did not want to miss the chance to wander around the streets of London.
Now, how on earth am I ever going to find Trevor? She thought. He said before that, he was studying in London. Is it Oxford?
She cursed herself for knowing so little about England. If she was coming to London, she should have at least, researched on schools and colleges there.
She resumed her walk, looking around for an inn or a motel. She would find these almost everywhere in Brooklyn.
“Is it just me or, this place is too sophisticated to have small inns?” Natalie asked herself.
She continued walking, feeling her legs grow tired.
As she was about to cross the road to the other side where a hotel was, a police car horned in front of her.
She sighed, and waited for it to pass.
If only, Corny Howls rode this car. She thought and paused.
“Of course!” She snapped. She could get to a police station and ask them to find Corny Howls!
Corny Howls, according to Henry, was a very famous police official.
Those people could know him!
She turned to the direction where the police car drove to and scurried on a pedestrian path to a corner which also led her out of the highway.
She drew a huge smile when she came to a building with a lot of police cars parked outside it.
She grinned and approached the entrance, crossing paths with some London policemen, maneuvering a delinquent from the car to the station.
Oh. Poor guy.  She thought, halting below the portico of the building, watching the event.
She then turned to the front glass doors with the emblem of the Police Force, walked inside and strolled to the reception desk.
There was a black lady officer behind the desk.
“Hello.” Natalie greeted. “Good evening?”
“Good evening.” The officer replied, opening a file in front of her. “What is your name? Do you have a complaint or, have you lost someone?”
“Amh. I’m Natalie Bradley.” Natalie introduced herself, first.
The officer noted down. “Okay Natalie, how can we help you?”
She took in a deep breath before replying. “I am looking for an officer.” She said and the lady raised an inquisitive eyebrow. Natalie went on. “His name is Corny Howls. I urgently need to speak to him.”
The officer grunted. “Corny Howls.” She repeated. “Does he work here? Are you also related?”
“No. I don’t know where he works. But, he’s a much known officer. His name is Corny Howls.”
The lady officer crossed her face in queer. She bent down to reach a book from a drawer in the desk and placed it on top of it. She opened it and traced her finger on it. “There is no one here by the name of Corny Howls.” she told Natalie.
Natalie sighed. “Perhaps but, can’t you help me to get to him?”
The officer narrowed her eyes, looking intently at Natalie.
Natalie popped her eyes in response. “Mmh?” she sounded.
The officer twisted her head to the other side of lobby and signaled to another police officer to come to the desk.
Natalie turned to him and greeted. He was young man with brown hair and wearing glasses.
“Hallow miss.” He replied and turned to the receptionist. “Yes, Hellen?”
“This girl here, is looking for a police officer named Corny Howls. He does not work here but, she claims that, he is a very famous officer.” The policewoman explained.
“Corny Howls?” the man rephrased. “Yeah. I’ve heard of him. In fact, he is my role model.”
“Great! So, do you know how I can reach him?” Natalie asked him with excitement.
The man turned to her. “No but, what would you want with such a high official as him?”
“I have to talk to him. Urgently.” Natalie said desperately. She was upset that, the police officers did not seem to understand her.
“Are you related?” the policeman asked.
“I came all the way from Hamerton to find him. I don’t know anyone in London. Please? Help me.” She begged.
“Hamerton as in…” the receptionist begun asking.
“That rich school many miles from here.” The policeman helped.
The receptionist nodded to that, and turned to Natalie. “Miss Natalie, the only way that we can help you to reach this police officer, is if you would tell us, what need you have with him.”
“Its private.” Natalie replied quickly, getting impatient.
“I’ll leave you Hellen.” The policeman said to the receptionist officer,
“No, Bard. Wait.”Hellen stopped him.
“Yes?” he asked.
Hellen turned to Natalie. “Please follow Officer Bard. He will take your statement.”
Natalie folded her face in worry. “Statement? What for?”
“It’s the way that we could help you.” Hellen replied.
Natalie was silent but, clearly she was not sure that she could believe them.
The policeman grimaced at Hellen, then turned to Natalie. “Okay. This way please.” He said, waving to a corridor that exited the lobby to the inner parts of the station.
“Ah?” Natalie asked.
“You’re not under arrest miss.” The man explained. “You’re just under police investigation.”
Natalie was worried, following him reluctantly.

“Please somebody, help me?”
Maggreth sounded over Howls’ phone, when Henry made him hear the security video of his room.
Trevor was with Corny Howls, sitting across the table with him, in their favorite restaurant.
Corny drew a deep sigh, hearing his wife plead for assistance.
“She wasn't screaming Howls.” Henry sounded later over the phone.
Corny set it on a loud speaker so that, Trevor could also hear it.
“Yes. She was calm.” Trevor said, agreeing with Henry’s opinion.
“Maggie is a strong woman.” Corny said. “But, now… how do I know that she is still alive?”
“Don’t give up yet, Howls. I already told you that, I am more than willing to give up myself so, that, you can recover Maggie.” Trevor comforted him.
“Trevor, I don’t want to risk your life.”
“Nobody is going to die guys. The unit will do whatever it takes to make sure that, all of your lives are safe.” Henry said over the phone.
“Thank you, Henry.” Corny said. “I don’t know what I would have done without you guys.”
“We are here for each other, man.” Henry replied. “By the way, Trevor, I would like to talk to you about something.”
Trevor raised her eyebrows, glancing at the phone on the table. “Yes Henry?”
“Which phone are you using?”
“Amh,” Trevor felt his pockets. “I didn't have the time to replace the one I gave you. Would you like to call me?”
“Yeah. But, anyway, your girlfriend was looking for you a two days ago.”
Trevor leaned forward. “Natalie? Is she okay? What did she tell you?”
“She wanted to see you. But, I told her your situation and asked her that, she should remain in Hamerton until you sort things out with regard to Maggie.”
Trevor sighed. “She better doesn't know anything. I don’t want to make her worry.”
“She sounded desperate. It was as if, something bad was happening or had happened in her school.” Henry added.
Trevor darted his gaze around the table in fright. “Oh my God. Howls? Do you think that, SOHOT also stroke in Hamerton.”
“We can’t know for sure but, I’ll make contact.” Howls promised.
“Thank you Howls.” Trevor said earnestly. “If anything has to happen to me, I don’t want Natalie to get hurt.”
“I do not mean to worry you by informing you that, Trevor. In any case, there’s more but, maybe we can talk some other time.” Henry said.
“Why? Is my father coming?” Trevor asked.
“No, no. The radio is going live.” He announced and shouted, “Howls! Howls! It’s Maggie she’s breathing.”
Corny sighed with relief, drawing a broad grin. “Oh. Henry.” He exhaled. “How is she? Does she say anything? Is she okay?” he asked quickly.
“She is alive, that’s what I can tell you. She’s still breathing.” Henry informed them but, in a rush. He was clearly working on something. “I’ll try to determine her exact location.”
“Please do that, Henry.” Corny requested.
“Okay, okay amh…. She is in… wait. What?”
“What? What Henry? Where is my wife???” Corny asked in panic.
Trevor waited silently.
“Hamerton.” Henry announced.
Their mouths dropped open with shock.
